Hey all! Got my NVC # when I called today 😊 Case received March 11, NOA2 March 1 so fairly quickly!

I've got almost everything together so I'm anxious if anyone ( @DeeJess ?) has a copy of the email from the NVC or London's P3?

So fair I've filled out ds-160 and prepped all documents for the medical and interview besides the payment confirmation. Hoping to call and book a medical tomorrow, but do we need to have the NVC email or some sort of physical letter for that?

Thanks all, hoping things go quickly for everyone 💕

Sooo, thanks to your help, I was able to verify that the shipment containing my packet arrived at the embassy this afternoon. Thank you for pulling up the information! I now know to expect for them to reach out with the next step sometime this week! 😄

Heeeey no problem at all, I also just noticed that the packages ship from Portsmouth, NH!

I'm glad that your shipment arrived and I hope your journey goes smoothly from here on out :)

Heeeey congrats! :) so I haven't recieved anything yet from London but I'm hoping this week as my package only arrived last Friday!

I've heard you don't need London to send you anything as you won't need it for anything from this point onwards.

NVC will send you an email once your file has left with an email attachment of your case number and personal details (you need this in order to attend the medical, but you only need the LND number to book). However, I went ahead and booked my medical soon as I recieved my case number over the phone (I booked it for like 4 weeks ahead just in case). There were loads of appointments available btw

Once my case went in to transit I registered and tried to book my interview but it would tell me 'not yet ready to schedule interview', so I waited a few days and tried again, it worked! I paid £206 and then scheduled my interview a week after my medical. I have my medical in 3 weeks and 4 weeks until interview :)!

I'll keep you updated!

That's great to hear, well done for sorting the medical and interview dates!

We called the NVC and they received our case on 16th March, so hopefully we should have a case number soon and we can start filling out the DS-160, booking medical etc.

I'm glad to hear there's appointment availability for London. Getting closer!

Ahh that's great! NVC is pretty fast I must admit, your case will be leaving NVC before you know it and DHL are super quick too.

I'm still waiting for my case to change from transit to ready but I'm hoping that changes this week

Yeah, soon as you get your case number book your medical (but keep in mind you'll need a letter from NVC with your case number at the appointment)

But honestly appointments are readily available which is amazing :)

I hope you guys hear good news soon!

Hello All,

We received the Packet 3 by email.

As mentioned previously, Packet 3 has no new information that are not already available online.

The email referenced a bunch of links like DS-160, Approved List of Medical Examiners, UStravelDocs, etc.

The email did attach a copy of our marked-up version of the I-129F with the approval stamp on top.

Now is the rush to get the rest of the paperwork done and schedule the interview which is likely to be towards the end of April or early May for us.

Good luck to all, and we'll keep everyone posted on our Timeline.

Thank you for the info.  Exciting to be near the finish line!

Thank you for the encouragement.

Words of caution for everyone working on the DS-160 and USTRAVELDocs and medical exam and interview, remember to keep everything consistent along with your I-129F.

I've read stories of how a simple typo like referring a "Miss" with "Mrs." on a form rejected a case. Don't rush thru the DS-160, but make sure all the information is consistent with all the past forms and future forms.

So what do I mean by future forms? Remember you will need to fill out the Adjustment Of Status after you get married, then Removal Of Condition, and then maybe eventually Naturalization papers. All those future forms and processes can refer back to your paper trail from DS-160 and I-129F.

Any inconsistencies from rushing to complete may lead to problems later. So be very careful and make sure both of you are on the same page.

One way I am making sure my fiancee and I are on the same page is using Google Meet. Google Meet has a presentation option where I can share the window so my fiancee can watch as I am typing and filling out the form and we can discuss real-time. I believe Greenbaum recommended TeamViewer. But whatever works best for you and your partner to keep everything consistent.

And finally, after you complete the form, resist the urge to submit right away  Wait a day or two and go back and review with your partner. Someone said that you can modify the DS-160 after submitting, but I'm not going to take that chance. If there is a modify, then there may also be a history. Again, don't want to leave any inconsistent paper trail.

Good luck to everyone. And I hope my posts are helpful.

Great advice!  and I find your posts helpful and I'm sure others do as well.  It is nice to see some chatter on here about what people are experiencing and helpful tips!  Thank you for all your help and advice along the way.  But gosh - you reminded us all that this journey might just be the beginning!

For K1 cases, referring to the beneficiary as "Mrs" is not a simple typo.  Anything on the application forms or evidence documents that could make the consulate suspect that the applicant and petitioner are already married, could lead to a K1 visa denial.  Another example is submitting chat logs where the couple call each other seemingly innocuous pet names like "wifey" or "hubby".

Hi guys! Thank you very much for all the help and useful info! I was wondering, since the NVC will send us and email with the case number and then the embassy will send P3 via email, do we need to update our emails somewhere? or they use the address we wrote on the initial petition? Thanks a lot! Also very happy to see more of us taking the final steps! ☺️

They will use the email you initially used unless you notify them of the new email.  I used the public inquiry link to correspond with them as that is the only email that doesn't get kicked back to me https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html

Keep in mind that there is a delay with NVC in responding to inquiries, and the wait time seems to be increasing at the moment.

https://visawhen.com/nvc

Right now, NVC takes about an average of 48 days to respond to inquiries.

I had submitted a couple of inquiries in late February about updating email notification to include my fiancee's email, but the "In Transit" and Packet 3 emails were still sent to my original submitted email listed in I-129F and NOT to my updated fiancee's email. So apparently, NVC still has not completed my inquiries yet.

What I read others have done is call NVC at the same number where you call for the NVC case number, and updated the email verbally. Or better yet, tell the NVC to update the emails when you call to get the NVC case number. That might be the quickest way.

Good luck to all.

Good morning, all! While on the topic of emails, would it be recommended to create the CEAC account using the email address previously provided (mine), or do so using my fiancé’s email address? Our case is now with the embassy and we received the next steps instructions to my email address. I am just not sure if it would confuse anything to now use his email address. I am the petitioner and he is the beneficiary, by the way.

Our case is now with the embassy and we received the next steps instructions to my email address. I am just not sure if it would confuse anything to now use his email address. I am the petitioner and he is the beneficiary, by the way.

Keep in mind that at the embassy step, theoretically, the process is for the visa applicant (or the beneficiary). Technically, the CEAC/embassy is notifying so the applicant can complete the process.

With that said, my fiancee beneficiary would have a hard time completing the forms and process by herself since she only has her phone.

What I did is create an email in my fiancee's (beneficiary) name, and we share the password. And we are using the shared email for the CEAC account for DS-160 and USTRAVELDocs. Right now, the email on record with the NVC is still my email from the original I-129F (petitioner). So unless you add your fiancee's email per my previous post, that is the email CEAC/embassy use for notifications.

The only caveat with the shared email method is that some email services might lock your email if it gets logins from different countries' IP addresses in a short period of time because of security purposes. So make sure you set up a good password recovery, or use a VPN and keep track of where you login from, OR just have one person do all the steps and forward the outputs to the other.

So far it is working out for us since I am doing all the work and forwarding her any notifications. 😊 Good luck!
