Help!! Canadian marrying bf living in USA

Hi everyone
I would really appreciate you help and guidance in my situation

I am a Canadian citizen. My bf is a American immigrant working towards obtaining his green card

Here are few questions I have:

1: we want to get married in next few months. His green card application is in process. We are thinking to get married after the decision on his application is made as doing so right now might seem fishy and create unnecessary delays/risks with file. Are we right in doing so? Or we can get married before ?

2: Being a Canadian, I can freely visit Usa. Can we just get a marriage license, go to court and get married in usa while I am visiting there OR is there some specific visa type ( like K1) that I need to apply for if I am marrying in America?

3: I would like to maintain my Canadian residence for next ~2 years as i work from home and would like to keep working for my company in Canada. After getting married, can I get travel to usa and stay for 5-6 month (max allowed) as visitor then travel back for few weeks and enter again for next 5-6 months. This way we can both stay together while I keep my job in Canada?

I would really appreciate your help

2: Being a Canadian, I can freely visit Usa. You're allowed to visit but you're not guaranteed entry.

Can we just get a marriage license, go to court and get married in usa while I am visiting there OR is there some specific visa type ( like K1) that I need to apply for if I am marrying in America? You can get married in the US. No special visa is required as long as you return to Canada before your visit visa expires.

Unfortunately this plan is not feasible. Staying in the US for 5-6 months. Returning to Canada for a few weeks and then going back to the US for another 5-6 months= living and working in the US. B2 does not permit work (even for a foreign company). If you want to live and work in the US you need to get the correct visa. Once your partner receives his GC he can petition you for your own GC. Or you can find a company willing to sponsor you for a TN visa.

I would really appreciate your help

Is his GC application family or employment based?

7 hours later  this crucial question has remained unanswered. @tash234@gmail.com you really need to respond to this soon.

Sorry about the delay

His GC application is employment based

Where is he in the process? Has he had his interview?

His GC application is being processed in usa only. No he hasn’t recieved any interview yet

You both might want to consider consular processing.  If you marry before he gets his immigration visa then you can added to his petition and get an immigration visa at the same time.
