Hi my fiancé and i just received our packet 4 today with a very near appointment date (feb 14th 2022) and im a little confused in the information packet they sent us.

IMPORTANT: ***please bring this letter and the appointment confirmation sheet you will receive from http://canada.usvisa-info.com/to the panel physician medical appointment. ***

Now i had just registered to the website and paid the MRV fee and have set my delivery to my home address. Now is the  "appointment confirmation sheet" what they sent me when i paid the MRV via email? or does that "appointment confirmation sheet" come in the mail?

I am glad the MRV payment website is working again. We had to pay our MRV in cash at the interview (February 1, 2022) as did several others.

We brought a print out of the e-mail you just quoted with the subject MTL2021XXXXXX: LAST, FIRST - Appointment February YY, 2022 to the medical exam. Unlike the interview, it was a bit more informal. The panel doctors just don't want you getting ahead of yourself before you have been given an appointment because the medical exam has limited validity and is pretty expensive ($350)! This could lead to some bad Yelp reviews. This is why they want some proof from the consulate that you have an interview date and that your vaccinations are up-to-date before you drive to their office.

We used Lyndon Mascarenhas (https://www.visadoctor.ca/en/us-medical) and his office responds by e-mail within an hour on business days! They even asked for PDFs of our vaccine documents (MMR, Flu, Varicella, COVID-19) and a PDF of our appointment letter in advance of our medical exam. If you are missing a document, they will tell you by e-mail so you can rectify it! Then, you can relax during your medical exam because you know in advance that they have all the documents they need.

Since your visa appointment is in 11 days, I would get your medical as soon as possible so the results are sent to the consulate before your interview. We got our medical 3 weeks prior to our appointment. It took 19 days to receive the results due to Health Canada prioritizing laboratory equipment for COVID-19 purposes. Now that Omicron is waning, it should be a lot faster. 2-3 business days is the normal time.

Note, they no longer give you an envelope as is instructed in the consulate's e-mail. This is out-of-date. The medical exam is sent to the consulate via e-mail and you will receive an e-mail notification from the doctor when this happens.

You're welcome! Indeed, 14 days is not much notice. It looks like Omicron is declining steadily in Canada so probably your exam results will be ready much sooner than ours. I have heard that rescheduling can add months to your wait time. If your medical is not ready, it might just add a week until your visa is issued. All things considered - probably a week-long wait time is better than months.

We were prepared for a major hour-long grilling session but the interview only lasted about a minute. On our interview day, Montreal opened for indoor dining so we had a celebration lunch afterwards.

Good luck and best wishes to you!

No, we didn't upload any documents to CEAC. Our visa type was K-1. I thought uploading on CEAC was for immigrant visas (CR1, IR1, etc.), ie for those who get their green card at the US border on entry so their document process is more rigid and comprehensive. K-1s get their green card after adjusting status in US and interviewing at USCIS field office.

I hear ya! I was worried as well. I had Google searched "K-1 ceac upload document site:visajourney.com" to read posts on whether document uploading is something we had to do, and the answer is no. The State Department's user friendliness needs serious improvement. Sometimes, the communications are wrong/contradictory.

We had 3 photocopies of every document, but it turns out only 1 copy and 1 original was all that was asked for. Each original was inspected and returned. A single copy is kept. I guess we have copies for our adjustment of status in the US. 🤭
