I'm already a USC. My spouse is the one who went for her N400 interview.

We went together with the expectation that it was going to be a combo interview. However, it wasn't really a 'combo' interview per se; I was never called to be questioned for I-171 removal of conditions. They only interviewed my spouse for N400, and waived the interview for I-751 (and approved it).

So in my books, it was more of a combo approval, if and only if you pass the N400 interview and you presented a strong I-171 application/case.

Nonetheless, one should always prepare for a combo interview if I-751 is also pending at time of N400 interview.

My husband had his interview at the Tampa office this morning at 11:20. And it was over by 11:33.

APPROVED!

The officer was super friendly. We had forgot to list two cruises that we had gone on in the travel section of the application. They were so long ago and we were going off of stamps in his passport for the travel. And of course you don’t get stamps in your passport on cruises. He was able to update his travel section at the interview, and it was no problem at all.

The questions he got asked were: Who is the father of our country, what are the political parties of the United States, what is the rule of law, what war did the US fight in the 1800s, who is the vice president right now, and what ocean is on the West Coast?

For the reading and writing portion, he had to read where is the White House? And he wrote the White House is in Washington DC.

Oath ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow!

Hi All!

Longtime follower, first time poster. I filed in February 2022 and had my interview today in Portland, OR. My attorney was with me during the interview and the officer was very courteous and professional. Passed the civics, reading, and writing tests with flying colors and no out-of-the-box questions during review of the N-400 application questions. At the end, the officer advised he could not provided a decision at this time, but will recommend approval. When my attorney questioned the non-decision, the officer advised that my I-751 file was not with my N-400 file and had to request the completed file from Nebraska (LIN SC). The officer went on the explain that since my I-751 was recently approved (June 2022), there was no issues with approval, but had to wait for the completed I-751 case file to be sent from Nebraska to Portland for final approval.

Other than the odd hiccup, the experience went well overall! Now it's just a waiting game for the official approval and oath ceremony letter.

An update: as of 9/26, I am approved and now waiting for my oath ceremony to be scheduled!

Portland, OR has been doing mass oath ceremonies every couple months and the most recent one was last week. Probably another month or two for the ceremony but I can live with that! :D

For those still waiting, your time will come!I know waiting is the worst part but hang in there!

I'm on the same boat, still waiting and waiting....and waiting and waiting since Feb 6th 😕

Our status now just says the wait time is longer than expected… with no actual months mentioned, maybe we will call Monday and ask them what that means. We are the Baltimore field office (at least that’s what we assume)

Did you end up calling? What did they say?
