I remember you too well. I was worried for you.  Im the one that told you I had submitted my passport for renewal and was waiting on mine. Mine just came in on friday along with my expired passport so I would have both whenever my interview is called.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for worrying about me!! I am so glad you are in the clear with your passport. Mine has been delayed at the embassy and that is WITH priority fees ugh. I am so thankful that this is the last visa I will have to receive.

and PS - Yup my oath ceremony has been bumped by 1 month, because the July 28th date probably got filled up by the time my interviewer went to book me. OH WELL. I am still happy!!!

Hi guys, sending an update here. I was the one a couple of weeks ago posting about the original of my current passport being with the UK embassy and while it was there I was scheduled for the N400 interview, and I was obviously freaking out.

Well, update:

I had my interview today (Baltimore Field office) and I passed (as she said with the perfect score on all questions, ha!).

Details:

Applied Feb 5, 2022

Biometrics Reused - Feb 6, 2022

Interview Scheduled - June 13, 2022

Interview Date: July 18, 2022, 11:30 AM

- Walked in, they said no worries about me not having my passport, they can do the interview without it (HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF ON MY END)

- Waited about 8 minutes, was called to the interview office, escorted to a room.

- In the room - my interviewer was actually connected via "FaceTime" - on the iPad. She was remote. I did not expect it. I am certain if that is a covid measure or not, but it is what it is.

- She asked me if I am going to say the truth etc. - I said yes. She asked me to put the green card, and my govt. ID on the table (I guess they have cameras on the ceiling)

- She proceeded to the 6 civics questions (longest river, what did the declaration of the independence do, how many years is the representative selected for, why are there 50 stars on the US Flag, There are 4 amendments to the constitution about who can vote  - describe one of them)

- she then asked me to write a sentence, on an iPad (sentence was: Washington is the capital)

- she then moved on to my application, Yes/no questions

- She asked me about 6-8 Questions about my application:

:: Spell my name, any other names used (I have other past names).

:: How many times I was away from the US (I said 14 but it was 15 because I recently went to Canada like 2 weeks ago but I forgot about it, no offense to the Canadians lol). So she said - maybe it was 14? you went to Canada it seems? I was like oh yes, It is 14, sorry I forgot about the Canadian trip since it was after the application! She was totally cool with it and chuckled.

:: She asked my place of employment, asked my marital status (I am divorced from the US Citizen I was granted the K-1 with and green card with. I am applying on the 5yr rule though)

:: She asked how many times I was married, who I was married to

:: If my parents are/were US Citizens

- She then asked to tell me if I am going to support the US, be ready to serve the US Military, if called, etc. etc.

She then said she is recommending my case for approval, because she has no further questions or concerns (she didn't ask me for the latest Tax Return, which I brought with me).

Then I read over the Oath, acknowledged it, and signed it (on the iPad).

She then printed out the paper (remotely, to the printer that was in front of me), but it didn't have my name on it LOL, but had someone else's name (which I told her).

She then printed the "right paper", but I now understand there were pages missing.

She said the oath ceremony is 1 week from this Saturday. So next Saturday, Jul 30. Thanked me, and I was escorted out of the room, by another person.

Here is the deal: later today, I open my USCIS to see if I have any updates, and it does have a letter of "Case approved, Oath ceremony has been scheduled" but the date is NOT next Saturday, Jul 30... but August 25, 2022... (which is more than a month away). I have no issues waiting, but I am not on the line to be connected to a representative to figure out which information to believe (officer or the online account).

I have a feeling it will be the online account but oh well, I would like to clarify!

Ask me any questions - I am here to help. If what I said is confusing - let me know what else I can provide, I am still in shock of this step being over (yay!) and my oath date being wrong (nay).

Congratulations! I am assuming your I-751 has been adjudicated before you applied for N-400? (Also from Russia, divorce waiver, still waiting to remove the conditions and just applied for N-400) :)

Hello guys,

Is it recommended to snap/take passport photographs to the N400 interview (2*2)? I remember someone saying that the officer had her mail hers in after the interview because her pic/biometrics were old and outdated.

I had my conditions were removed back in 2019, so I’m ways out of the 3 year rule, didn’t need a divorce waiver. I just waited to apply based on the 5 year rule. I definitely didn’t see my life taking this turn with the divorce thing, but hey, I gotta make a Lemonade out of it - right, lol?

Good luck to you :)

I had my n400 interview on Monday at the USCIS office in Atlanta. Went well. Was approved on the spot. I was invited to come back this Friday for the oath ceremony! Since there literally wasn't any time to mail me the notice, they asked me to wait for the printed version. After about an hour I was given my printed oath ceremony notice. A digital version was also uploaded on the USCIS portal. Super excited! I think I'm gonna begin passport application immediately. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

About my interview...

Friendly officer. He asked me to waive my rights for representation (we had an immigration lawyer prepare my application). I found it weird but I agreed and signed the waiver on the tablet in front of me. He then went through the usual questions to establish if our marriage is legit, just pretty much verifying stuff that we already had in the application form. He had my entire file from Adjustment of Status in 2018 to present. Huge file with all my documents lol I found it fascinating that they shipped it from my previous state where i lived before going to Atlanta, GA.

He asked my former address which was like 3 years ago omg thank goodness I remembered including the zipcode. My husband was surprised, he barely remembered. Initially I was asked to go into the interview room alone but my husband asked to join. He basically insisted that he wanted to provide moral support so the officer agreed. My husband thought he would just be sitting there and I would be answering all the questions. Nope. The officer asked him how we met, where we lived before Atlanta and to show him a photo of our son. My husband showed it to him on the phone. It was an interesting request. I had my son's birth certificate but we were not asked for it.

Apologies if my narration is disjointed! Then he asked the civics questions. What is the capital of your state, why do some states have more representatives than other states, where is the statue of liberty, why did the colonists come to America, what event took place on 9/11, what's one power of the federal government. I got all 6 so he stopped there. Next it was the questions about have you ever been arrested etc

Then he said I am recommending your approval, there is a ceremony on Friday, and Saturday, choose one day. I said Friday. Then he asked me to wait outside for my letter. The interview was about 20 minutes. The wait time though was long. My appointment was 12:25 and I didn't go in until 2:00pm. Then I waited an extra hour for the oath ceremony notice printout.

Good morning guys!

When I check my USCIS online profile the "estimated time until case decision" simply disappeared. Is anyone else having the same issue?

San Diego office is quiet since I applied back in February... :(

Thank you in advance.

He was with me. The officer that called out my name said only the applicant should go into the interview room. My husband persuaded the officer and he was allowed in. The officer said that my husband has to be part of the interview now that he is in the room with me so some questions were directed at him. For example, our former address, details about our children, and tax returns.

What I found strange though was being asked to waive my right to representation. I had an immigration attorney on file when I applied for N400. My husband and I didn't have a chance to discuss. I just agreed and signed the waiver but trust me I was panicking and asking myself all kinds of questions.
