Hi All, I am from SRC filed Jan,2020 and recently done with my interview. I was issued rfe and am trying to submit it by this week. Meanwhile, my receipt expired and I have infopass stamping until March 22 of 2022.

My dad is sick back home and he needs a surgery. So, I have to travel in couple weeks and I might need to stay there for a while but since my infopass is dated only until March,22 is there anyway that I can request uscis to give me another six months stamping in my passport now as I can't wait until Feb,22 to call them for appointment? Also, is it safe to travel during rfe phase of the case ?

Please provide your inputs if you have any experience/knowledge.

Buy a refundable/changeable ticket home to collect proof of your dad's illness. You will need to call USCIS and request an emergency appointment for the i551 stamp. You should get an appointment in one or two days.

You will need to bring proof of the urgent need for the stamp.

You could take the evidence of the urgent need for the stamp to the field office and see if you can convince the staff at the field office to let you walk in to get one.
