I-130 is approved - question about interview

My husband's I-130 petition has been approved and we are now going through the second step... My question is about the location of the interview, my husband is Egyptian and supposed to apply for the interview in Egypt but due to the current covid status in Egypt the interview could be scheduled after 1 year so can we have the interview in different country specifically in Saudi Arabia as we are currently living there? And if yes how long does it take to schedule the interview?

Thanks alot

If you are legally residing in Saudi Arabia, you can request the interview to be there.  You can interview where you are a legal resident, OR where you are a citizen.

Thanks for your reply.

My husband is legal resident in Saudi Arabia so i guess it's okay to ask for the interview to be there but our son is on a visit visa and he also will have an interview so is it okay or he must be legal resident too noting that he is just 2 and half years old?

You can "request" but the request may not be granted for the child.  I would certainly try, but you certainly don't want the interviews in the same place and time.

I am sorry but i don't understand why wouldn't i want the interviews to be in the same place and time?! I think having the interviews in the same place and time will be the best scenario as we all are in the same place or may be i am missing something you meant 🤔

Ahh.  Changed my thought process from "don't want different" while typing and didn't notice the contradiction.  You definitely want the interviews in the same place and at the same time.

Oh np it happens 😅

One last question, to whom or how i should address this "request"?

Email the National Visa Center and include your husband and child's evidence of status in Saudi, and passport data pages.
