I got my green card in December in my new married last name, but my passport is still in my maiden name. Will I have issues leaving the US? We have a long weekend in the Bahamas coming up this month and we are worried since they don't match. Of course we will bring the marriage certificate too but after everything we have been through we are scared to leave hahaha! Can anyone confirm that we won't have any issues?

Path of least resistance is to book plane tickets in name on passport and bring the marriage certificate with the green card.

Are people ever denied entry for this reason? We won't go if there's a chance I can't get back in!

green card has your photo

you'll be ok

take just a copy of the marriage license / leave the original and a photo copy of your Green card with family or friends in the USA with your trip itinerary

Your green card is your sole document for entering the USA.  No one has ever  been legally denied for entering with a green card that doesn’t match the name on their passport.  I cannot say CBP has never denied such a person.  I can only say it would be illegal for CBP to do that.

Airlines are free to deny boarding.  I haven’t heard of an airline doing so because the green card is in maiden name.  Having the marriage certificate mitigates.

I am in the same situation and I have been able to successfully travel back home multiple times. I do always take my marriage certificate with me, just in case. I book all my international flights on my maiden name because my Dutch passport is in my maiden name.
