I hope this is the right forum for this.

In September 2020, I entered the US on a CR-1 visa obtained through DCF. In January 2021, I submitted From I90 to get a GC in my married name. I did my biometrics for that in June but it is still pending. Processing times show up to 17 months. In the meantime,  I lost my wallet with my Green Card in it last week. I made a police report. I called USCIS but the bot couldn't/wouldn't redirect me to a person. I chatted on Ask Emma and they said USCIS will call me back within 3-30 days. Hoping in the meantime someone could advise - do I have to replace the lost GC? This would be another $540 in fees and God knows what the waiting time on that would be. Can I travel without the physical GC? I had international travel planned in the next couple of months.

No need to apply to replace the lost GC, you have already filed i90 for a replacement. Keep the police record and send a copy of they when uscis asks for the original GC.

Better not to travel without a GC. While you may be allowed in at the US immigration after lots of grilling, the airlines may not even allow you to fly while coming back to the US.

Thank you. That's a shame about the travel. I haven't seen my family since Dec 2019 and finally had a date planned. Unfortunately can't fly at another time due to health stuff. I just have to be patient and maybe hope for a miracle and that the replacement GC will be here by the end of March.

I am not too familiar with I-90 but look into the possibility of getting a I-551 stamp at a local office. for your trip

You will have to call the 1800 plead your case to speak a level 2 officer that will then schedule an Infopass appointment if you are able to convince them.

Good luck
