About TB skin test

I heard from VJ members that USCIS requires TB skin test at the time of interview, I wonder If TB skin test can be done at any public health office or it should be done only at USCIS doctor?

It was done prior to your K-1 visa interview and is not needed for AOS, if your medical was less tha a year ago, the results are in the medical paperwork that USCIS already has.

You only need to do a vaccination supplement for AOS.

It seems like there is a new requirement...as part of the K1 medical you probably had a chest x-ray done; it seems though for AOS they are now asking for skin tests...

Yep, I had X ray in my home country but I didnt have TB skin test. but I still want to wait until interview to be sure If they will ask for it.

I had my TB skin test done at the CS and they told me I could have it check locally which I did to avoid a 3 hours round trip.

Well then the CS told me that they changed the rules at the USCIS and that shouldn't have at it read at the Health Center because they don't check the ID's and all that.

I don't know if it's true or not though, but I would be careful if I were you.

If you have an insurance, have your doctor do it for you I would say.

The TB skin test is NOT done for all K-1 applicants at the medical stage.

I just called USCIS and they said that the TB Skin Tests are now required and that is why people are getting RFE's

Just went and had my skin test done at my doctors, my summer camp doctor will read it on Saturday or Sunday. He will sign a copy of my passport to say that he checked my ID, and when I go pick up my new medical forms from the CS on Tues he can just add it to my files. ( I was a K1 visa applicant who had their medical "misplaced" ) Hopefully this will be ok, and I can send it back with my RFE form to the CSC.

I just had my TB skin test done at the health center and HIV and syphilis test. My CS said it was ok to do this. I even went in and spoke to her personally Total cost so far $32 including chest XRAY. Lol because i was divorced and have a new partner she said she might as well do all the other STD tests as well. I thought what the hell might as well-it didn't cost anything.

Yep, that was me LOL.

They really need to update all this info so people applying for AOS know this BEFORE they show up at their interview.

That's just it. USCIS doesn't even know what they're doing... there's no way for us to know what to prepare for. *sigh* We all just need to wait and see what happens, as unpleasant as that is. Maybe one sticky post should be started to keep track of who gets RFEs for TB skin tests, and who gets asked for one at their interviews.

Do you think some of these "lost medical" RFEs are because they consider medicals incomplete without the TB skin test? Or are they just disorganized people losing paperwork?
