NVC rejected my AOC

Hi all,

I am petitioning to to sponsor my parents for a green card. Just got a note from NVC rejecting my AOC. Reason? It is missing the last blank page that is normally used for additional information if things didn’t fit on your application. Everything fit on the application so I didn’t think I needed to submit the stupid blank page.

My question now is, once I submit the new AOC with the blank page, does that set me back 3 months until they review it again? Per the NVC timeframes page they are now reviewing documents submitted 3 months ago.

Wow.

unfortunately it does since form I-864 is a required document and not a "other".

But you never know, go ahead and submit your documents right away and hope for the best

Sorry typo in my topic + paragraph. I meant AOS not AOC. The Affidavit of Support is what got rejected.

For them it could be like you had additional information page filled out but forgot to include. Only if they see that page they would know. So yes it was your mistake.

Anyway, it's not warranted when they actually review the resubmitted docs. Could be 3 months or less.

The NVC is fussy about these things. We had a document rejected for failing to scan the blank back side. And yes, you go back to the end of the queue when you submit this doc. Be prepared to wait 3 more months after resubmission.

What kind of document was that? Did they have reason to think there would be something on the other side?

That's frustrating.

They say here:

Please scan both the front and back sides of any document that has stamps, seals, or writing on the back. (If the back of the document is blank, do not scan it.)

It is even more frustrating when they say you needn't scan the back if it is completely blank (which ours was) and yet reject the document until you scan both sides.

The document was the death certificate for previous husband of beneficiary, that's me. The strange thing is, it had already been accepted by USCIS without the back side scan. Several people have faced this problem with NVC, or so I have heard.
