Has anyone ever used agoda.com to book a room with ? Their prices look too good to be true and with free membership you actually get $ taken off your next reservation.

I hope no one EVER uses this site to book a hotel.

I was browsing the site on Friday and found a HUGE deal on a hotel that we had wanted to stay at. I'm talking like 70% off the quoted price. I booked it but the site doesn't really book it in the true sense.....they reserve the amount on your credit card and contact the hotel to confirm that there are openings.

Well a few days went by and I hadn't heard so I called them and they stated that the hotel did not work on the weekend.

Ok whatever so Monday morning I came to work to find an email stating that the hotel had no openings and that they couldn't offer me any alternatives because all of the other hotels do not have openings either.

I leave Friday.

So.....................................I went looking yet again and went to book on a different site, this time directly via the hotel and low and behold my credit card was denied.

I looked it up and the money that Agoda had reserved is still unavailable to me. I called them and they said "7 to 10 business days" for them to release the money even though the reservation is already cancelled in their system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot tell you how totally po'd I am at the fact that they have me by the balls like this.

Plus where do they get off advertising prices that they cannot honor?

TOTAL ripoff.
