What is the logic behind processing applications - everyone is frasturted

Hi everyone, i'm sure this is something everyone is upset about and I'm very frustrated with this.

I don't know how USCIS processes applications. I filed my i751(potomac) july 2020 and N400 January 2021.

I hear all the time that people who filed (same filing centers - i know each service center has different timeline) same time or even after my date receives updates/approvals.

 

I'm happy for them but I really don't understand what makes my application wait. My i751 is a waiver, is this the issue? 

Is there ANYTHING that we can do to help this situation(no we are still in normal processing time) but i don't know why some people receive updates/interviews/approvals when others (when they send the same time or even earlier) still waits.

 

any thoughts? i am losing hope..

Unfortunately you answered your own question here.

Nothing you can do but wait until you're outside of normal processing times (if that even happens - I'm sure you'll get a resolution to your case before that happens).

06/28/2021 - day 1774 - I-751 status changed to 'New Card is Being Produced'; N400 status changed to 'Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled'

08/19/2021 - day 1826 (exactly 5 years since day 0) - Oath Ceremony (notice received on 7/19/21)

thank you for your reply bu my question was why uscis processes applications at the same service center for people who filled before you?

Assuming you mean those who filed after you.

 

Many reasons. To name a few:

- different officers = different review speeds

- different cases = different circumstances = different review speeds

Distributing the files to IOs may be very ancient style.


Example- Say one IO gets assigned to a box of files (say 50-100) and such. If your happens to fall in a group where the IO is slow and cases are complicated, your package will likely be still in that box waiting to be touched while other IOs process files fasyer due to non complexities.

 

It's like a freeway traffic, you see cars on other lane moving fast forward while you are still on 10mph. It would take a minute for you to change the lane. For uscis, it may take months just to realize oh these cases aren't moving at all thru this IO.

2015-08-17: I-130 approved

2015-09-23: NVC received file

2015-10-05: NVC assigned Case number, Invoice ID & Beneficiary ID

2016-06-30: DS-261 completed, AOS Fee Paid, WL received

2016-07-05: Received IV invoice, IV Fee Paid

2016-07-06: DS-260 Submitted

2016-07-07: AOS and IV Package mailed

2016-07-08: NVC Scan

2016-08-08: Case Complete

2017-06-30: Interview, approved

I-751s take 2 years on average. N400s take 1 year on average.
