HEY JAN & FEB NVC FILERS

How's everyone getting on???
If you submitted in January and have heard back already (whether RFE or approval) - please let us know 🤗

I'm suspecting we still have at least another month of waiting personally (submitted late Jan) but I suspect we might getting some traction soon with January filers! Hopefully some progress to be reported on the horizon!

Hi everybody. I filed AOS early February. Today NVC released new version of I-864. Does that mean we have to resubmit new version? Another three months wait? I really hope not. Any insights?

I am not certain but I doubt it... it wouldn't make much sense and would set everyone back and further the backlog. I'm personally not going to sweat it right now.

There was some chats about this in the below thread as well

More than likely those who have already submitted I-864 do not have to resubmit the new version. That just would not make sense.

12/08/21. Starting April 7, 2022, we will only accept the 12/08/21 edition. Until then, you can use the 03/10/21 edition. You can find the edition date at the bottom of the page on the form and instructions.

(This is under Edition Date on the USCIS website)

As long as you submitted the form before April 7, 2022 they should accept both versions.

  • 2 weeks later...

Here's some information on our Jan submission to NVC timeline.

Our situation changed in that we requested a transfer from Auckland to London (husband is a UK citizen).  For your reference on timeline -- our document submission was Jan 15.  By NVC timeframes they should have started looking at our stuff about April 20.

We requested the transfer to London on February 11 and public inquiry responses were 47 days out at that time.  That transfer was confirmed on April 1st (ahead of the 47 days estimate) just as we were making the trek from Wellington to Auckland.  We flew to London on April 4.   We received an RFE on the Police Certificate (NZ) claiming they couldn't read the documents on April 7 as well as statements that  my domicile and financial ability to be a sponsor were in question.

I re-uploaded the Section 14 Request and the NZ Police Vetting Service confirmation they had completed it and forwarded to Auckland Consulate.  I also had a confirmation from Auckland Consulate that they had forwarded it to NVC on January 21.

I was unable to get in to CEAC as Petitioner to review what documents they were questioning for me and I couldn't get through on the phone.  I was totally beside myself because I could not have possibly provided any MORE info on financial qualifications and domicile.    They had everything including photos of me voting at the Embassy in Wellington last election and months and months of bank statements.

My husband was finally able to log in on via his laptop and all my documents said "accepted" -- so whatever they weren't sure about they worked it out.    This was ahead of NVC time estimates for reviewing documents of 96 days.  If it had gone to 96 days it would be April 20th they'd start looking at our materials.

April 8 we had a DQ email.

We were expecting the interview date email to be a couple of weeks away but it arrived in 5 days, with an interview date of May 5th which was amazing at only 3 weeks out!

That began the scramble for the medical appointment and I'd heard London was backlogged on them and people were getting appointment times AFTER their interview dates.   I was shaking while making the call as I was so afraid it would be problematic.   The scheduler was very pleasant and put me on hold for a couple of minutes and came back with a cancellation spot on April 19th!    So we're on a train to London tonight to be there first thing tomorrow morning.

I have to think this is good news for everyone -- NVC seems to be picking up speed and backlogs are starting to ease.

We are excited and nervous, but it is refreshing to be moving on in this process at last.
