I dont know much about the immigration process but here's my own personal experience -

Our lawyer asked my husband to write a letter too with a relationship timeline - in our case we got married with only two witnesses in a different city cause my family didnt approve of our relationship. When they finally accepted, we had a big wedding a few months later. We didnt submit it with i-130 but we sent it to the NVC as an additional document.

The lawyer said it is better to include this cause my husband had to contact the US embassy here at one point for advice cause things had been pretty bad between us and my family and he felt unsafe.

You can say "had official/legal wedding on XYZ date at MNO" and  "had wedding celebration on ABC date at DEF".

A lot of times in SA the wedding venue and the celebration venue are in different places (church and then wedding hall).

I've also gone to a few weddings in SA where the wedding celebration was in the morning and the reception was in the evening and different guests attended.

You're overthinking things. Don't over explain the wedding process in the letter. If its an issue and the CO is curious your husband can explain it at the interview.

Sure name of church or place/city.

We haven't received our NOA2 but we seriously just wrote the date and stated we got married. We didn't include any additional details about who married us or who we celebrated with.

We got married in the States. No family attended. Didn't even think that would be a problem as neither of us wanted to organize a big wedding 😅

If you got married during covid times, small ceremony is totally understandable. Some couples are getting married via Zoom these days and their petitions have been approved.

Like i said yesterday you are talking to much and want to tell to much. STOP IT. No one needs to know how many witnesses are there or who officiated. Why do you have  need to tell this when this has nothing to do with proving bonafide anything.

You are making something so simple complicated with talking and telling too much. It is so not necessary.

Not fussin but I have seen letters written about family not being there going south (Some embassies harder than others).

I had to write a divorce timeline because I divorced and married 25 days later so I get you feel you need to write a letter. If lawyer says so let them write it you hired a lawyer not to have all this stress Yes? use what you paid for. 😃
