Hi All,

Just wanted to confirm the CR-1 Visa process as on 1 site i found first US citizen have to file for affidavit of support then after received this one then we can apply for the cr-1 visa.

(But while asking this question i found this site)
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition.html

Which shows each step really clear how it all looks for the visa.

Just wanted to confirm that that's how the process looks like and i should basically follow all from this site. Basically starts with filling i-130 from this site https://www.uscis.gov/i-130

And that i should just do it as soon as possible since it takes so long that we can apply this i-130 tomorrow and the rest will follow (As in we will have time to focus on other steps) ?

Thank you!

U.S. citizens and lawful permanent resident petitioners residing in the United States must file Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This can be done either electronically or through the traditional paper process through the mail.

follow the USCIS or guides above to submit the I 130 petition

this is not an affidavit of support / that step comes later in the process
