How long does it take for an Interview date after receiving the letter of qualifying?

My husband and I (and our two children 15 & 13) have applied for immigrating to US as Canadian citizens under category EW - Employment-based sponsorship (not any relatives included as sponsor). We got the letter from NVC yesterday confirming that all our documents have been received and our case is qualified for an interview at US Consulate in Montreal. Does anyone has any recent info on interview appointment date timeline scheduled in Montreal? I know that Quebec is currently in lockdown as we are here in Ontario until January 31st when it ends. I heard it takes 2 years but this is unbelievable to me. How can he company which has offered my husband a job position can keep the position open? Thank you so much.

Depending on embassy availability

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

People waiting for spousal visas are waiting this long as well.  It is just how long US immigration takes now.

It’s a 3 month wait time for spouses and over 2 years for employment at Montreal. Not comparable at all.

A 3 month wait for spouses?   From the time they are documentsrily qualified?

That is not at all what people here on VJ are reporting.

November 2021 DQ spousal cases got interview letters in January according to the spreadsheet maintained on this website. AND according to the Montreal consulate website, October 2021 DQ cases got interview letters in December.

You can do the math.

I live in Canada but honestly 2 years for EW visa - employment sponsorship is ridiculous. I have qualified for an interview date but not going to wait 2 years. I was thinking of applying for a TN visa.. I don’t know; I’m in tears can’t believe I have to wait 2 years

Well there are many of us in the same boat. Hopefully things will speed up

soon.

TN is a non-immigrant visa and may not be an option for you now that you have demonstrated immigrant intent.
