PETITION FINALLY APPROVED BUT WE NEED MORE HELP

Wow, four and a half months and two RFEs later we have finally been approved the USCIS California Center!!! It's been a long and frustrating case but we are so happy and relieved to have this approval. :D

Now our case should be on its way to the NVC but we have a new problem. My fiance, the beneficiary/applicant, is here in Arizona visiting me. He will be here until the end of August. Is there any way to have the paperwork (packets 3 & 4) sent here instead of the UK?

Also, what can we do in advance or have ready to save time during the NVC and London Consulate processing of our case? We are hoping for a fall wedding (Oct 21st) but the delays from the RFEs have really hurt our chances. We knew this was a possibility and can change the wedding date but who wants to have an outside wedding in winter! We don't want to use a JOP and get married later so any tips that may save even a few days would be wonderful and well appreciated!

Good luck to everyone during this process!

The embassy sends the packet(s) so I dont think that is possible. Also your petition can be at the CSC for a week or so until they have enough to send out to the NVC, not to mention your petition can be at the NVC for a week or for 2 months or longer. I wouldnt make any plans until everything is over.

My husband had his brother send P3 over to us while he was here visiting me.

There are examples of P3 forms on this website. You can familiarize yourself with them and be ready to complete them upon their arrival. (My husband had to scratch his head a bit about some of the biographical data - the forms aren't hard at all but one should make them as complete as possible).

If he has not yet ordered his UK police certificate, he should do that straightaway. The normal delivery time for a UK police certificate is 40 days.

He will also need a long-form birth certificate at his interview. If he has not ordered one of those, he should also see to that.

He doesn't need to go back. Either have someone send it, or, as soon as you know that London has your case file open, You can send everything you need from here. Several VJ members have clean scan copies of the checklist and all other forms are downloaded anyway. You can send it all from here just fine.

And I do believe that you have a good chance of making your intended wedding date. London IS better than many other Embassies at being considerate of applicants' timeframes. Some scrambling and pre-planning on your part should have you in very good shape.

Make sure you indicate a definite travel and wedding date where request on the checklist in packet 3. They DO pay attention to that (at least that's what VJ member experience heavily implies). "ASAP" is NOT the best reponse - especially if you have dates set or in mind.

Thanks for the advice everyone. :) I think we may try to get packet three together as NVC processes our case and send it out as soon as we are in the system at the London Embassy. Has anyone else done this and what was your experience? Every day we can move this forward makes a difference.
