Asking this for someone I know who is considering taking an Embassy job overseas. Has anyone been in this situation with a pending petition at USCIS? Would they even consider moving your petition to the Embassy/Consulate you work at, or would that be considered a conflict of interest or unethical?

No issues. Is the person a USC thinking they’ll get a job in the embassy? If so, that’s not how the positions are filled.

From my understanding, they are taking or planning to take an IT job for a contracting company that services Embassies in a geographic area. I don't think they are considering it for any type of benefits besides the job, though.
