My parent received his visa with annotation on it  "212 (G) (2) (B) Class A or B (TB) Req Attn of USPHS At POE". He was suspected to have Tb and had to do the sputum culture, which took 8 weeks.

1. What does this mean for us? Do we have to be worried?

2. I don't think he has latent Tb, but just in case he has to receive treatment for latent Tb at USPHS, would that be free of charge?

That annotation means CDC will send your father's chest x-ray results and sputum culture testing results to the Department of Health or public health office at your father's residence state.  After he arrives in the US, he will likely get a letter from the state's public health office, asking him to set an appointment for a check-up.  As TB is a matter of public health and safety, the check-up, including any required lab tests, will probably be free of charge.  Probably any required treatment as well, but it might depend on the state's policy.

As mentioned above.  We went through this too.  It will be a QuantiFERON-TB Gold test.

I have this in my visa but I never had to go through a sputum exam. So I'm surprised. Just went to St Lukes to get our immunization records and asked them about TB and all they'll tell me is if I didn't require sputum, I don't have TB...
