Did you get the I-29F rejected same day as the I-130 approval? Did they both go to Texas ?

They both went to Texas

They notified us of denying I-129F Friday and approved I-130 Monday

@Canada21 wanna fill out your timeline?  https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=399230

K3 is essentially dead.  There were less than a handful granted last year.

Yes, you can apply, but it's unlikely to do anything but assist in the backlog of paperwork that is already slowing the immigration process.

I know it is dead but it seems like it is helping with getting the I-130 approved faster?

Not really.  Absolutely nothing about immigration is fast and there are a ton of other people who've thought the same thing and try to cut the line.  It pretty much never works.  Everyone has to do their time in NVC purgatory.

The advantage you have (or your spouse) is that you can typically visit the US with ease as long as you can prove strong ties to Canada while your case is pending.

If you are applying for consular processing through Montreal, fill out your timeline https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=399230, check out the spreadsheet link in my signature with typical processing times for a whole schwack of us that have gone through or are in the process of obtaining an IR/CR spousal greencard.  There is data from 2019 onwards until today.  Once your profile is filled out, you can request Hawk Riders to add you to it.  Then, jump on our IR/CR thread.  There's also a link to the FAQ's for the Montreal consulate in my signature.  Please read them.

The USCIS I-130 part doesn't usually take too too long.  The time between submitting your stuff to NVC, having it approved and getting your interview is the long part.  Montreal does seem to have made a concerted effort to get the IR/CR house into better shape, so that's a positive note!

It is annoying that the USCIS time is not consistent. Like some cases in the same service centre take 4 months and others take 13 months. I feel like even though the NVC period takes sometime, at least their time, for the most part, seems accurate for processing

Amazing how different timelines are for everyone doing the same thing.  I had the opposite of this than you.  I-130 being the longest of the 3 steps (7-months/Texas), NVC 5 months to DQ (would have been 2 if I didn't forget a doc), Interview 4 months from DQ, visa in hand 5 days.

Did you get an RFE or was it just during covid for your I-130?
