Please help me.

We applied for AOS last Nov 2006. We were transfered to CSC on the same month. On December 2006, we moved and so we requested a change of address. Since then, we haven't received any information on my AOS case anymore. On June 30, I received an online alert that said USCIS sent me an RFE. It's been 12 days now and I still haven't received it. Now I am worried that they sent it to my old address.

What can I do about this? What number do I call to ensure that they sent it to the correct address? The problem with USCIS customer service is every time you ask them questions, they just give you the same information that USCIS case online gives. How do I go about this? I tried to setup an Infopass online (Charlotte) but it told me that there's none available at this time.

Please help. I'm so worried. :help:

The online case status is updated before hard copy paperwork is mailed. 12 days? Give it a few more days for the RFE to arrive.

In the meantime, why not call the USCIS and verify the address on file. Alternatively, do you know anyone at the old address that you can call?

When I first did my I-129F, I changed my address (via phone) about two weeks after submitting the application. I received a letter to my new address a week later, confirming the address change. But when I got an RFE a couple of months later, they had sent it to my OLD address! Luckily someone living there forwarded the mail to me. I think sometimes the employee in charge of the case does the mistake, because they only have the original file with the wrong address.

Is there anyone at your old address who could forward your mail? Is the address close enough to go and check on it or inquire from the post office?

Call the customer service line and see if you can request the RFE be sent again, to your new address. Good luck!

Dont bother calling the 0800 line they cant do anything... they will tell you to wait 30 days and then call back... Make an infopass appointment at your local office... they will be able to get it resent and they may be able to tell you what it is for...

hi!

You really think they can tell me what the RFE contains? I have been reading about infopass experiences here in VJ and looks like a lot think that it is a waste of time...

I followed your advice anyway and requested for an Infopass appointment (July 26). Who knows? :)

Thanks!

How's your info pass?

I have the same situation, I got email about RFE and it has been almost 60 days but did not get any paper mail.

I went to Infopass and the Immigration officer cant tell me any information other then the status I saw online.

Totally helpless and don't know what to do, we call USCIS several times and all they said is they have request to resend

the RFE but nothing receive so far.
