Hello, I filed my I-130 online and have received an NOA1 on 12/6 but cannot find which service center will be processing my petition. The NOA1 lists the Nation Benefits Center in Kansas in the lower left corner. I’ve tried submitting this question on the USCIS contact site and calling but since my question doesn’t fit any of their pre determined questions I can’t speak to a representative nor submit a question online. When I check the case status it just says They sent me a receipt. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I find which service center will be processing this? Thanks!

What?? There isn’t a service center in MO. I’m trying to find out the service center so I can estimate the processing time.

The NBC’s primary mission is to prepare applications for adjudication that require an interview at a USCIS Field Office.   The NBC’s largest workload is Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

U will receive notice of interview when field office has the case

The NBC was founded in 2001 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and was originally called the Missouri Service Center

and our case was sent by Nebraska to Missouri and they did they work for our IR1

I understand that this location in Missouri exists and what it is for but my petition has not yet been processed. I just sent it in a little under two months ago so I still have 5+ months to wait which means it should currently be handled by one of the 5 service centers (California, Vermont, Texas, Nebraska, or Potomac).

Did you indicate in the I-130 (part 4, item 61) that the beneficiary will be adjusting status in the US?  If so, then it's normal for the petition to be assigned to the National Benefits Center, not to one of the 5 service centers.

No, I gave her address abroad and did not fill out the portions that say, “The beneficiary is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status… etc”

In that case, you should call the USCIS hotline to notify them that the I-130 seems to have been sent to NBC by mistake.  Tell the agent that the beneficiary is not adjusting status and will be pursuing a visa from outside the US.  Request that the I-130 be transferred from NBC to a service center that handles cases intended for consular processing.  Ask to speak to a supervisor or a Tier 2 officer if the agent says they don't have the authority to resolve your issue.

Thank you for understanding my dilemma and for the information. I tried everything to get past the automated system to a representative and nothing would work. It even said “if you continue to ask for a representative your call will be disconnected”. All I can get is a case status and nothing further..

Try saying "lost receipt" or "InfoPass appointment" at the voice prompts.

Update - I called back and tried a few other ways to reach a representative (unsuccessfully) then finally said “Infopass appointment” and that worked. I was hold for about 15 minutes and spoke to a representative. She said that our application is at the Texas Service Center. At the end she said (in a scripted format) that I could’ve found this information online and I said “Oh I could? Can you please tell me where I could have found this online?” because I looked extensively and could only find that they sent me a receipt, not where it was being processed. She replied with, “I hope you will have a nice day”…
