Remember when Germany was going to rethink shutting down its nuclear power plants in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine?

Maybe not now while Ukraine is still fighting back, but it is definitely for Western Europe to plan for a post-USA era of mutual defense.  America is a co-dependent on Europe’s addiction to bloody energy.

They can always increase burning coal, too. That's probably more doable in the short term squeeze actually. Horrible for the Earth but what can you do.

on another note, for those that are not aware of the Azov Battalion, here is some good information about this neo-Nazi group that the corrupt Ukrainian government integrated into their military, and it also shows why the Russians are so interested in keeping up the attacks on Mariupol, a city with very little strategic value, and Kharkiv.

Bennett advises Zelensky to surrender to Russia, Zelensky refuses

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy that he recommends Ukraine take the offer made by Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war - which includes many Ukrainian sacrifices - in a phone call on Tuesday, according to an official in Ukraine's government. According to the official, Zelenksy did not take Bennett's advice.

 

The source claimed that the phone call was initiated by Bennett. "If I were you, I would think about the lives of my people and take the offer," Bennett reportedly said.

Looks like it may have just been a rumor that got leaked. Everyone is denying it now. I thought it sounded suspicious, it would be a very bizarre PR move on Israel's part to just tell someone to give up.

More US troops deploy overseas in wake of Ukraine invasion

About 130 soldiers from the 87th Division Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade, lined up with rucksacks inside a terminal at Hunter Airfield in Savannah before marching outside and boarding their chartered flight. It departed amid grey skies and rain.

Republican U.S. Rep. Earl “Buddy” Carter, of Pooler, Georgia, was among those in attendance. He was seen “fist-bumping” many of the soldiers as they boarded the plane.

 

The battalion’s soldiers are in addition to the estimated 3,800 soldiers from the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division who have deployed in recent weeks from nearby Fort Stewart, said Lt. Col. Lindsey Elder, the division’s spokesperson.

I think this was hinted at before, "gotta support the existing NATO countries" or something like that, but what's funny is Croatia is angry that NATO seemingly didn't even notice when a Soviet-era drone just crashed in their backyard. I guess that one somehow missed the NATO watchdogs, despite flying over multiple NATO states from Ukrainian territory:

"According to what we know now it was obviously launched on Ukraine's territory", Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic told reporters on Saturday.

"We don't know in whose possession it was," he said, adding that both Ukraine and Russia claimed it was not theirs.
