With a job offer, definitely, you can expedite.

For the driver's license you'd need to look into it as it differs from state to state.

And take this waiting time looking for programs, requirements, gathering your academic documents -originals and translations if needed- and working on your CV and the essays that are required for graduate applications.

Thank you so much. You give me hope.

I see that you’re currently processing AOS. I also see that there is no NOA2 in AOS, I guess getting biometric is the big milestone. How’s that done? Do you schedule one on your own or do they do it?

Just curious about this as I hear they only process EAD after biometrics is done. So even if I try to expedite it’s useless. Please do let me know if you know how to expedite.

No, the 'milestone' is the interview, which can occur a year or more after biometrics.

At this point I’m only worried about the EAD. Worst case scenario how long is it taking in the current times?

8 months.

They schedule biometrics a few weeks after your case is accepted.

As @Jorgedig mentions, EAD/AP takes 8 months on average but you can expedite with a job offer calling customer service.

Can one get a job at school with just a K-1? An F-1 lets you do that.  I doubt a K-1 will, but perhaps I am wrong.

We are housing a F-1 student now as his University of TN dorm is closed for health and safety protocals as some residents came down with covid

he could work on campus if there were jobs but with the covid issues ,   there are none open

F-1 visa holders (but not their spouses or children) can work at almost any job on their school's campus without needing to obtain U.S. government authorization. If you want to work off campus, however, you'll need to request authorization from either your DSO or the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

and F-1 student in high school -no work
