I was selected in the DV lottery for 2022. I have sent all the required documents, filled DS-260 and I'm at the stage of the consulate interview.

Turns out mine was scheduled for January 31 2022 at the US embassy in Spain. Due to covid I wasn't able to make it to the required medical check-up so I have to re-schedule my visa interview.

When I tried to change the date visa the official webpage (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/) I got an error saying "There are no available appointments at the selected location".

I called the listed phone numbers and they told me that DV interviews cannot be rescheduled by the applicant and that I shouldn't have tried to reschedule via the webpage. They say there is nothing they can do and that it seems that the calendar is closed for new interviews (it seemed to me that the lady on the phone wasn't even working at the embassy)

Is there anything I can do? I wrote emails, called any listed numbers and they are of no help. I don't want to throw out of the window the effort and money I put into this.

My wife is a US citizen living there if that's of any help, but the CR-1 visa was taking too long so I applied to the DV lottery and won.

Why not attend the interview and do the medical later?  They won't approve the visa until both are completed, but I believe you (or the panel Dr.) can submit the medical later.

Good Luck!

It says in the official webpage that the medical examination should be completed before the interview:

Quote

You must complete your medical examination, along with any required vaccinations, before your scheduled visa interview date. When your medical exam is completed, if you are given a medical exam envelope, you must bring it sealed (not opened) to your visa interview. Some physicians will send the medical exam results directly to the embassy or consulate.

Yeah, I saw that too.  I just remembered hearing of someone going for a CR1 that could not schedule it, but I cannot find that.  This being said, are you saying that Spain is not conducting any medical exams for US immigration?

No, sorry if I didn't explain myself correctly. I wasn't able to attend the medical exam because I was in quarantine due to a covid contact. Now there is only one week left until the embassy appointment and I still need to get a blood test (for chickenpox antibodies) and the medical exam, so I don't have enough time, I need an extra week.

I’m not from Spain, but I recall that having the medical exam and the blood test the same day. I got the test results the next day or 2 and brought it back to the Doctor office. It’s not a long process ( it was before COVID-19 though). It might be better to try to get your medical visit as soon as possible rather than changing your interview date.

If you can schedule the medical next week, I think you could still attend the interview even if the results have not reached the consulate yet.  If you are no longer in quarantine, I would do anything you could to schedule it.

The problem now is that as soon I hit on "reschedule" to check if there were any other dates available my current interview was cancelled and now the status is "pending appointment"

Apologies, I did not see this response when I posted mine.  It sounds like your interview was already canceled, if so, all you can do is keep trying to get a new one.

Just get the chickenpox vaccine. Nothing bad is going to happen. It should save time. The medical is extremely fast, just call them and explain the situation.

I got a vaccine for mumps even though I had it as a kid, because it was easier than doing the blood test.

It's extremely difficult to get appointments and it's not worth risking it. This is a 10 year green card and much better than CR-1.

The problem is that I don't have the original appointment anymore, because hitting the reschedule button means you cancel your other appointment and I did...

That's wrong. Adults should NOT be getting a vaccine for a childhood disease they're already immune to. Titers are quick and easy to obtain.

That's weird. You just hit a button didn't go through with it.

Try to get the same appointment back rather than a new date by phone.

I tried but they told me they cannot do that from the phone (then why do they list the phone as contact?)
