Not sure on your specific source but on a different article there was the following very relevant and useful information: "Certain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents may be considered acceptable alternate forms of identification, including a 'Warrant for Arrest of Alien' and a 'Warrant of Removal/Deportation.'  Other acceptable forms include an Order of Release on Recognizance, an Order of Supervision, a Notice to Appear, and Arrival and Departure form or an Alien Booking Record."

How valid are these alternate forms of ID?  Reminds me of a M*A*S*H episode where several locals came for medical treatment using the same ID, and when asked, they claimed "It is me"

 

However, Gooden reported to the Daily Caller, which broke the story, "that he was told by a border patrol officer that 'they often have to take migrants at their word that they are who they say they are' when issuing DHS documents accepted by TSA as alternate forms of identification."

They have to take their word because a good number of people that enter without inspection have no documents so there is no way to corroborate they indeed are who they say they are.

As for the validity, both DHS and TSA are the ones conferring it but I guess it must be within certain context/under specific circumstances. For instance, I don't think people in the forum that for some reason already have an NTA could start freely traveling using it as their only ID.

We must all use REAL ID, so for consistency it seems that others should have something validatable at least to the level of what we all used before.

 

Entering illegals often discard their identity documents because they fear extortion of their families by the traffickers.  However, this is not and should not be our problem.
