2 Week Quarantine Period

Hi there,

 

I was told that you need to wait 2 weeks of quarantining once you come from outside the country to visit a SSA office.

 

However I see many posts about people going days after arriving in the country. 
 

Did they drop this requirement? Do they not ask when you walk in if you have been out of the country in the last two weeks?

It most likely depends on the location. Just got a call to schedule an appointment yesterday in NYC and they asked me if I was out of the country in the past 14 days. But they also said a negative COVID test would do the job too.

This is interesting because I’ve called offices in NJ, NY and FL and all said no exceptions must come to US, quarantine for 2 weeks and then call to make an appointment.
