Received biometric appointment letter in another state. I called USCIS last Friday & requested to give it close to our location. When I called again today I was told that request has been placed but I there’s no guarantee as they are allowed to reroute to available locations due to backlog. What should I do ?

How far away is it?

They likely rerouted you because they need to get your biometrics now and that's the only one with availability.

We are Virginia and had to go to WV. My parents live in OH and it was closer to them than us. You'll likely have to go.

It's definitely because WV is not nearly as busy as Ohio. So it is not a mistake, they want you to go there. I moved from WV to OH, depending on where you are in Ohio the drive is 3-4 hours. Not that bad. Don't miss it.

Sort of off- topic: I was living in WV when I had to do my biometrics and they had me go to Moundsville, PA, right outside of Pittsburgh. It's good to now that the WV facility is being used again. If you can, please update me where in WV they send you. I'm just curious.

You could attend the biometrics (few hours driving?) or try to reschedule to your nearest location which may delay your appointment by lots of months. It's a choice you need to make.

Just watching Jim Hacking show and somebody has the same situation. He advised the person to show up to the biometric appointment with the notice, your form of ID, a copy of the NOA you received after the AR-11, and tell them to update the address there.

Can I ask you to keep me posted?  Which office? Cinci or Columbus? I have to file ROC and I would like to know what the office is like.

Sure will let you know what happens tomorrow. Will be going to the Columbus office . Their reviews are pretty good on google & actually we had our initial biometrics done there for AOS

Oh ok! I mean, I have to file for ROC and it will probably be a year or so until we get an interview, but I just haven't heard many reviews from that office.
