London Embassy Interviews (timing)

Hi, our I-130 just got approved over Christmas and we are currently working on our NVC documents and expect to have those completed by the end of this week.  My question is timing. The I-130 took 10 months to get approved and I've been told by our lawyer to expect 4 months for the NVC to get our "documents qualified", and the interview portion depends on the embassy itself (and not the USCIS timelines).  Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to get an interview scheduled at the London Embassy?  I am a USC and the interview is for my husband (CR1).  Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Here is link for time frame for NVC.

Might be at least 8 weeks (if Embassy is fully operational) from DQ:

Look in the UK forum. There’s a long thread where people tell when they got their interviews and some will have timelines so you know when they completed NVC how long until they got sent to London. The time is getting shorter as they are catching up on their backlog. Look back for posts from the middle of several months (13th  to 15th) when the interviews typically roll in. Nothing for mid January was posted.

Speaking of timelines, you haven’t done one. They help people like yourself looking for info and help people who may have an answer to your question.

Congratulations on getting through the USCIS section, you've got a way to go, the NVC process can be really frustrating, but it looks like the UK Embassy has caught up on their backlog, so as long as nothing major changes you shouldn't have to wait too long (3-4 weeks max) from DQ to Interview.

I would recommend you spend sometime looking through the NVC forum's submission threads and take a note of the common RFE's (where the NVC find an issue with your documents and put you back at the end of the queue after you resubmit the new document). You'll want to try and avoid any commons ones. Our attorney let us down in two areas, so we went through the NVC review process twice.

After you've submitted and are waiting for your review, I would highly recommend you look at the requirements for the medical exam, and get all of that in order. Get your vaccinations up to date if you don't have records of them. And if you have any previous major conditions, depression, anxiety etc, or even something that might be a question mark, get your GP / specialist to write letter or report, get further testing etc, in preparation for the examination.

If you find my post helpful please hit the 🤍 heart icon and hit 'Like' or 'Thanks'.
