Al Qaeda Cell in the U.S. Or On Its Way, According to New Intel

Senior U.S. intelligence officials tell ABC News new intelligence suggests a small al Qaeda cell is on its way to the United States, or may already be here.

The White House has convened an urgent multi-agency meeting for Thursday afternoon to deal with the new threat.

You know, I really start to wonder if this has anything to do with the crumbling support among Republicans in Congress for the President's failed Iraq strategery. Wouldn't be the first time that the White House trumps up the threat level in an attempt to regain support.

ETA: It couldn't have anything to do with that since they don't do politics at the DHS.

I don't think it's a political ploy. I'm with Jamie, there are probably some here already. The president isn't running for re-election. And judging by his actions on the immigration bill I don't think he is trying to help his party. I think they are worried that something is coming.
