My petition is still under review and in process, my U.S. passport is going to expired on November, and I want to renew it because I want to travel back my fiancee country, and assist my fiancee to enter U.S. if everything get approved. If I renewed it, I will get the new passport number, and will it affect the petition progress, and what should I do with USCIS if I renewed my U.S. Passport? Any one has the experience on this circumstance, thank you very much.

USC passport has nothing to do with petition process but before u send it in for renewal ,  copy the pages that show any stamps for your entry to fiance's country (in case u need to prove visits to see each other)

u do get your old US passport back but it can take time
