N-400 Seattle (Part 2)

I have interview yesterday at USCIS Tuwila.

 

Interview time: 7:15 am, got called around 7:35am. It was done virtually with other local officer. Interview was straightforward and took about 30’. At the end they need my fringerprints refreshed and it would have taken 48 hrs so they advised me to go home. My form has “no decision” checked. I came home and around 7pm I received email with cased update that they approved my application and placed me in line for oath. It was unfortunate that no same day oath offered, howevet, I’m glad that it didn’t take long time to wait on approval decision

 

i will update again on oath ceremony.

Im still waiting on notice for oath day. I will update once I receive it. Hopefully next week.

If I am seeing this right  , I see a couple of folks from November and early to mid December 2021 have gotten scheduled in late August and early September. Looks like Seattle is working at warp speed.

Interestingly, my wife still hasn't received the interview notice, even though I filled out her application the next day. She received her GC through a slightly different route and has a more complex visa history (but no violations or anything like that).

Wow, that is going really fast! The FY2022Q2 data just came out. Unfortunately, it only covers through the end of March of this year so it doesn't show these major strides. That being said, it does show a slight drop in the number of pending cases (by only 163).

I have no idea what decides case timelines. The only thing I can think of is different officers working at different paces.

Receive online notice for oath day scheduled. 4 weeks after interview day.

@keixjil, Was fingerprint reused when you apply N400?/Is that 5 years residency based or something else? Sorry, I have very tight schedule from my interview to other family event so wondering if I would get same day oath or not. Thx for the update! (BTW How do I add original post in the reply thread?)

Yes, fingerprints reused after I submit N400 application. I applied under 3 year rule. Mist recent biometric they had of me is 2018. 

Some of people here had tried to get bio metric refresh same day and were successfully to had oath ceremony on the same day. I tried as well, but they couldn’t refresh my bio at that moment. So I was told to go home. 😢 hope not the case for you. I’m not planning to take international trips soon so I can wait.

For people with pending I751 - bring your spouse to the interview, even if you received N400 notice with only your name on it.

I have my interview in early July ( N400 notice with only my name, still I751 pending). I was planning to come with my spouse just in case, but my kid woke up sick so I went alone in the end. I got check in ok, but when I was called for the interview the officer asked if my spouse is with me. He was not thrilled that I am alone, but understanding about the situation. I had birth certificate for my child ( born after I applied for N400) and some photos printed and he said it was enough. The whole interview/civic test process took maybe 15 min. I had an oath the same day.

That's awesome that the officer was that accommodating, definitely not the norm!

I have an idea: let’s add a column in the spreadsheet with case ID and have folks fill it in. It doesn’t disclose much more info, but at least allow us to check subsequent case ID and have a sense of how it’s progressing. That would be faster than having to wait for potential folks to fill in subsequent December dates, etc. 
 

A quick program checking the case ID, crossing it with following Seattle case ID could provide a better estimation than our current minds are trying to right now.
