Congrats!! I logged in today and it said 12 months too (Jan filer) so I wonder if the processing time is not tailored to each applicant's exact point in time -- maybe that number just represents what the current average time to completion is for everyone?

Mine said 4 months up until interview got scheduled. Then the system came up with 12 months. Things are moving. Kind of hard to digest since we all gave up on Seattle and it’s ridiculous backlog lol.

Oh weird! Yeah that number is just meaningless and put there to taunt us then I guess lol.

 

Are you a 3 year or 5 year filer? I wonder if there's any difference between them.

That's a quicker turnaround than mine. 

 

09/07/21 applied online

06/23/22 interview scheduled

08/04/22 interview date

Still showing 12 months for you ? I am showing 8 months now . It reduces by a month every month , whatever that means .

It resets when your interview notice gets sent. Yesterday morning, before we got out interview notice, ours said 3 months. After we received the notice, it says 12 months.

Just logged in and yup still showing 12 months 😬 I've stopped paying attention to that number.

 

I'm a 3 year filer. (it says the projections are for 5 year permanent residents though)

They weren't offering same-day oaths at all though, and we were both immediately scheduled for our oath ceremonies on July 4 at Seattle Center. Looks like the naturalization ceremony there on July 4 is a fun affair that takes place every year, complete with music, dignitaries et al (details here: https://seattlecenter.com/events/featured-events/naturalization-ceremony#:~:text=Every July 4th,welcome them to the country.). Newspaper articles from previous years suggest that they swear in 500 people at this Independence Day ceremony every year, and I'm guessing that if you're interviewing this week or next week, there's a good chance they'll try to get you scheduled to take your oath there. 

 

Our background: We are French citizens, arrived in the US on an L1A (+ dependent visa) in 2015, got our green cards (EB1) in 2016 and applied for naturalization in April 2021.

PS There's ample free parking next to the synagogue that's 8 minutes away by foot from the USCIS office.

 

 

We became citizens today at the special 4th of July ceremony (which was quite beautifully done, if I might add). All the best to those waiting.

Okay it's becoming hard to not obsess about this now that the process is speeding up a bit 🙈 I keep wanting to know if October filers have heard yet, etc. Anyone else obsessing?

If you look at the rate of processing , USCIS scheduled( not interviewed) everybody ( in our chart) from July, August and September of 2021 between May/25 to July/1. So in the past 35 or so days they have scheduled about 90 days worth of interviews.  If they continue to schedule interviews at the same rate 🤞, ie schedule 90 days worth of interviews in the next 35 days , most folks with filing dates close to end of December 2021 should be scheduled by mid August 2022.  😀

We don't know if the rate of increase is linear -- there will eventually be some drop-off point. But even if it isn't linear - say they schedule 90 days worth of interviews in double the time (70 days instead of 35 days) - it still means everyone this year should hear by mid Sept. That's really promising!

 

I am very cautious when it comes to USCIS 😂

I think mid-Sept would be very ambitious but they definitely still have their work cutout for them if they are going to reach the USCIS goal of all cases processed within 6 months by the end of FY2023
