Ok-- completely off topic, but i have to ask this! I was just talking to this girl -she's american. Her English boyfriend came to the US to spend the summer with her, and they got married. No special situation- he didn't have a job, isn't related to anyone in the US, etc. He's now living with her here in the US, but can't work. He's hired a lawyer and they think they'll get his green card in 4 to 5 months. #######?! How does that work?? Anyone know what i'm missing here? I thought if you got married, you still had to be separated while you filed for your K3 visa.... I'm so lost.

yea same thing is happening with my ladlady and her husband. But their case is "worse" b/c he was here illegaly and got married to her (the US citizen) in june on the beaches of St. Petersburg Fl (beautiful pics) and the other day he informed me that he already got the interview for the AOS.......and they don't have any lawyers..........I wish I would've known that earlier, I would've done the same thing with Ricardo, oh well just goes to show you how "strict" USCIS is

PS: no, they're not cuban, they're colombian, so in this case the country he was from didn't matter.....

I'm still confused. I didn't think this was an option for us, because i thought that once you were married, you had to file for the K-3 visa, and still couldn't live together at that point. I'm really lost. Why wouldn't everyone just go to their fiance's country, get married, and then adjust status?

OK 2 things spring to my mind....

2. lucky, jammy, cheating so and so's. If I'd known that I could possibly sneak in the side entrance and still end up legal in the end I would never have come back after my stay in the summer!!!!

seriously if anyone can give an possible legal ways they have done this.....if they found a LEGAL loophole we missed, well congrats to them. If they skirting round the long, legal, expensive way we doing it and not going to have to pay any penalty despite doing things illegaly...well I'm seriously P*ed off!

First - it sounds like they got married here - which is why everyone couldn't just go to their fiance's country, get married and then adjust because the thats what the K1 and K3 are for - Second if they did file for their adjustment - with no intent of being married - maybe thats the loophole -they came over on some other visa and during their stay decided to get married - assuming that really was the case and their is no process fraud on their part...welp thats my semi knowledgable opinion.

I can't believe I'm only a week off the 90day mark....when I filed I thought this would be the big moment!!! HA! no such luck!!!!

Anyways...got a fussy maid of honor to try and find a dress for that she likes, I like and that is preferably not one of the £300-400 ones she keeps looking at!..................keeping me occupied!!

I'm just sick about my timeline.... when we first started... our date was like October 14th or something like that. Now... here we are 81 days into it and our date as of today is December 10th! We had originally tentatively planned our wedding for Dec 15th.... no confirmed or set plans made but that was our thought process. Imagine our disappointment as our projection plays out now until the second week of December. I know it's all projection but I am feeling very down about the whole thing. Of course the recent spike in petitions approved helps a little, I'm just feeling tonight like....... will it ever happen????

wedding - stress: i can hear you.

i'm ending up planning the wedding all by myself bc my stupid sister is as ignorant, arrogant and mean as it gets. her comment to all the trouble with the visa was: your fault if you chose an american.

i organized her wedding 3 years ago, and now she's such a B!TCH.

E. is currently working 18+ a day and i really can't bother him.

i should have chosen to have bridesmaids, that way i would have slaves to help me!!!!!!! (i would threaten them that they will get pink baby-doll dresses if they don't agree with the decent ones i would suggest).

i start to get the point why people fly to vegas....

and I thought I was keeping it simple by only having a maid of honor...no bridesmaids!!!! Anyway, I've found 3 dresses I like which I know Nick's mammy will like (is it bad when you have similar tastes as your future MIL?) hopefully she can help resolve this. Nick is one of six (1 brother, 4 sisters) and Millie (maid of honor) is really the only other one aside from nicks brother that I have anything in common with. I still get on really well with millie, just this dress thing driving me nuts!

Hand itching like mad round edge of burn where its healing, middle bit still tingles and feels like really bad sunburn, that's the 2nd degree burn area! Plastering aloe vera and vitamin e ointment over it now in the hope it wont scar!

I see some more movement in CSC.........keep em coming CSC and I might send you some homemade blueberry muffins!!!

I am so excited, I can hardly contain myself! We got our NOA1 today and the best part about it is they gave us a 'received date' of 07-27-2007. I am officially a July filer!
