hi guys!!!

i hope that you all enjoy your weekend!

i guess it is a good idea to get the police cert. already, and maybe even to look into doing the medical already. these things are good for 6months, right? i am currently only working part-time as i have a hard time finding a temporary job. nobody wants to hire me bc i'll be leaving in a couple of months anyway. :( . so it's probably a good time to get all these things done.

@ jen: we are still waiting for the "ok-to-go"-approval of the head of the church (kirchenrat). as we wanted to have our ceremony this december. time is running and we want to send out the invites ASAP....

there is one thing a realized this week: this whole immigration-visa-thing is asking so much from our relationships, that i get the feeling that our relationship is so strong that it seems as if (besides the adjustment period, i am VERY MUCH afraid of that one) there is NOTHING that can break us.

the adjustment will be hard. i guess it would be easier if the beneficiary could work right away. but to basically sit at home and wait.... i guess i will try to do volunteer work or something like that.

SO DEAR FELLOW FILERS:

either way, WE SHOULD BE PROUD!!! we follow our hearts, we take risks, and we are willing and looking forward to commit our lives to our loved ones. HELL; YES; I AM PROUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no immigration-related issues should make us feel bad, because we are fighting for the BEST THING IN THE WORLD!!!!

will go to church now and pray for a bunch of NOA2's for all of us! :)

I just sorted out my police certificate - it didn't take long - just have to post it now :) Can we go have the medical already or do we need to wait to be asked by the embassy? And what vaccinations etc *do* we need - it would be good to get all that sorted asap :D

I completely understand about getting a job... I am currently working in an office temping and that is pretty much all I can do - I don't know if you can do something similar? It isn't ideal but it gives me a bit of money to tie up all my loose ends and things :)

Our check was cashed yesterday! Horray! :D

That is great news. They really made in hard on you at the beginning of the process. Here´s to hoping things go smoothly from now on. :)

Thank you. I have to admit it was awful not knowing for at least 90 days whether we might have to resubmit the whole thing and have our start date on this process put back 3 months. Thanks also for helping me keep sane by posting your thoughts and information you had researched on the problems at USCIS.

The July filer thread is where I thought I should be and has been my home for the past couple of months but I will be ecstatic if the receipt date on the NOA1 reflects the delivery date in August. I'll still keep checking in with you guys and looking forward to seeing smooth and timely approvals for each and every one of you. :)

Because I don't do relaxing! It's ok that we have a plan B but I still worry about things like what happens if I don't get through immigration and my entire family are there for my wedding but I'm not?! That's the biggest worry I have really but I just have to try and play things by the book :) Bring my evidence I am applying for K-1 and therefore am not going to breach conditions, show evidence tying me to this country etc...

You'll be fine. I noticed you said you were working as a temp. Along with your K1 packet you could, for insurance, tell the agency you will be returning to the country and actively seeking work if you have to take up plan B and get them to write a letter to verify that is your intention. If you still have a rent agreement that would be a good thing too. I think it is a worry, but as long as you have evidence to cover every possible question I doubt you'll have anything to worry about.

there is one thing a realized this week: this whole immigration-visa-thing is asking so much from our relationships, that i get the feeling that our relationship is so strong that it seems as if (besides the adjustment period, i am VERY MUCH afraid of that one) there is NOTHING that can break us.

Yeah, I only have doubts about the process, about the subjectivity of it all. Under normal circumstances, you fall in love, spend time with someone, make a commitment and not realise the weaknesses in your relationship until much later because people don't normally communicate their doubts until those aspects start to get to them.

We're all under so much pressure at such an early stage in the relationship, having to prove so much more, that I'm certain the cracks would be showing by now. I think having to go through this proves you have the resolve to be together and make it work no matter what.

It would be nice if the process were easier and more certain, but, I'm kind of grateful that going through this is making us realise how strong the commitment is and forcing us to communicate how much the relationship does mean to us all.

We're all so much closer to what we've been working so hard for :)

Is it just me or have CSC over this last week made some serious progress. There has been at least 2 or 3 days where they had 6+ approvals. I really hope this is marking a change in the tide, I know that's maybe being more hopeful than I should be but it doesn't hurt to give Mr. Black Cloud above my head an afternoon off.

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I haven't been keeping up to date with the approvals as you guys seem to be doing a grand job! It's bad enough checking my timeline to see how much later my projected date has got and the USCIS site to see if I've been touched!!!

There is definitely an air of positivity around though :D

well, even in that Q&A thread they posted, they said something like 'if you believe your petition was incorrectly rejected, please send it back stating your reasons', which is what you've done, AND you've submitted evidence... of course no one can say for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if you got some good news soon :)

My daughters and I arrived home from church after some serious praying for all of us filers.

Deb, I hope your hand is feeling better and great luck on the wedding plans.

I am currently working on the I-134 as my fiance is coming for a weekend visit next weekend. I will send him back all of the forms that he needs. I already have statements from my employer and bank plus everything else he needs. I also send the example copies of the 156 and 156K, etc. that he will have to fill out. Doesn't hurt to do it while you're thinking about it. Same with the Police Certificate - I made him get his about two months ago.

So - I'm ready - are you USCIS?

Continuted luck to everyone!!!

Just remember that at the end of the day it may take a long time but remember what we are all working towards :) If you want something bad enough you can make it happen no matter what life throws at you :)

well, probably not growing a lovely big pair of feathery wings, and flying to the US avoiding immigration, but most things short of that ;)
