Hi,

How do I add my time line to your database?

Our 129F was received on July 2nd with a notice date of July 11th.

Also, once the visa is approved (fingers crossed), and my SO arrives, can any one tell me about:

getting a drivers liscense for him

getting working papers

what to do once we get married

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Elena

Dear July filer service center representative,

I am writing to make you aware of the incompetance of your organisation. Your processing times are ridiculous for what one can only assume is a fairly simple task of reading and ticking check boxes, sometime that is a staple of primary education. May I make the suggestion that you should expand your staffing afterall you are recieving extra funds. Technically speaking as you are actually a private profit making company and not an offical government office you are breaching international competition laws by holding a monopoly on the issue of processing such requests. As far as customer satisfaction goes, you will certainly not be recieving a tip.

hahahaha.....if only!!!!!

Haha, how eloquently(and accurately) put!

Haha!! I know - but isn't a part of you scared!? I think I want it now then I suddenly realise that while I am in this visa process bubble the wedding and move seem a lot further off - take away the visa process and suddenly you have two massive life changes in one foul swoop!!! I still think I am in a daze about it all :D I can't believe I am actually doing it - this is the sort of thing you always see other people doing!

You are so right. I am often so engrossed in missing him, worrying about NOA1's, reading the tragic stories on here and worrying over the slim possibility of a visa denial that I forget about what will actually happen at some point next year. Then suddenly it hits me that my life is about to change considerably. That both excites me and scares me.

I think the scary part will subside though once the process is complete and you've gone through immigration with your K1 in hand. I'm sure it will take a while to adjust into everyday life once married but the best part is that you'll finally be permanently with the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

Not many people face as much anxiety and work as hard for a relationship as us immigrants :P

somehow you seem to have omitted us

PLEASE folks, PLEASE do NOT try to keep this antiquated list going!!! If you are new and want to see how you compare to other VJ July filers, please send a PM to weedebz. She is the keeper of the July database, which you can find a link on her signature for and review what has happened to date. Not much I assure you, but our Scottish lass is superb with keeping it up to date and will gladly enter your infor if you send her a Private Message (PM).

Does anyone know whether you can send additional information in after NOA1. I didn't think we could, however on RFE masterlist someone a few months ago recommended to try it. Not sure what happened.

In my case my lawyer sent just the identification page of my passport and copy of my birth certificate. This was after I told him to use the passport-which I had copied every page and in front of him put my name on each page. He at the time I saw him told me that u need front and back of birth certificate. The front page of my birth certificate is complete, but the back was blank. ANyhow, I just copied the front of the bc and the passport in entirety-both of which I gave to him. I was soo ticked when I found out what he did, but my fiance wouldn't let me fire him. BG wants to keep the lawyer as he has lots of experience for the AOS portion.

When I asked the lawyer about the above and what's stipulated in the instructions, he told me that the birth certificate should be ok. :ranting: I doubt it. BG and I are pretty much expecting a possible RFE. At the time we didn't think k1 would take this long and decided to wait until we got it. Now I'm wondering since it's taking too long whether I should submit the correct documents. Or should I not bother cuz VSC might have to go through the trouble of brooming the dust around the applications and might misplace the additional papers.

any time I've seen this sort of question asked in the past, the answer has been along the lines of 'don't risk trying to send additional information; it will never be added to your petition'

instead, the advice has said to have everything ready and waiting, so if/when you get the RFE you can turn it around within the day

obviously, in the end you need to do what's best for you... hope it works out :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

AsStillThePrettiest said, it seems to be impossible to submit additional information until it is requested. Make sure you have the missing information ready to go so that you can respond quickly if you receive a RFE.

It will be a waste of time and money for sure. The stuff will never reach your file. Hope for the best, and if you do get an RFE you are ready to respond immediately.

The back of Jesse's birth certificate was blank too. I told him to copy it anyway but he said it just looked like a blank piece of paper (no outline showed up from scanning) so, it probably makes no difference whether you send it or not.

I didn't copy every page of my passport, just the one's that were relevant to the process. I can't see how they can verify the pages actually belong to the same passport without looking at the real thing. I figured that the boarding passes and financial proof of visiting were probably better evidence of being there and of course I had the relevant page of the passport copied to back that up.

I think it depends on who is approving the petition (in straight-forward cases) as to whether they RFE you or not. So, don't worry :)
