:dance::dance::dance:NOA1 ARRIVED, NOA1 ARRIVED :dance::dance::dance:

Okay here's my dates... pick the one you like the best:

I mailed the package on 29-July

USPS says that NSC got it on 1-Aug

NOA1 Hardcopy arrives in the mail from CSC on 27-Aug

"Received Date" on NOA1 Hardcopy is 29-July

"Notice Date" on NOA1 Hardcopy is 23-August

USCIS Web-site says "received" on 22-August

USCIS Web-site says "last updated" on 24-August

So the mail was delivered on 1-Aug and the package sat around "waiting it's turn" until it got entered into the system on 22/23-August.

Am I a July Filer?

July filer? Yes. Anyone who mailed / shipped their petition in July is a July filer in my book.

Your NOA1 date? I think August 23, but I would not stake my life on it.

The next time someone speaks to a human at USCIS, could you ask them two questions?

1. Do they process K1 petitions in the order they are received?

2. If so, do they go by the hard copy received date, the USCIS website received date or the hard copy notice date?

If we ask this questions several times and the answers are consistent, we will know for certain which is the best date to use.

In the meantime, I suggest that everyone uses the hard copy notice date for their NOA1 date. Or if they don't have a hard copy, use the USCIS website received date. They are usually the same or very close.

Does everyone agree?

First, please fill out your Visa Journey timeline. It will help us help you and will also help make the VJ statistics and projections as accurate as possible.

Texas will forward your petition to either Vermont or California, depending on when it was received. The fact that it was transferred will probably delay your NOA1. I don't know if this will also delay your processing. It depends on if the service centers sort the petitions by the date they were physically received or by the date the NOA1's were issued (i.e. Notice Date). We are going to try to get an answer to that question.

If you cannot track your money order, I think you will need to wait until you receive the hard copy of your NOA1 to know for certain that you are in the system. If there is a way to get USCIS to give you your case number over the phone, I am certain that someone will let you know how.

Welcome and good luck!

There must be some people who sent their petition on July 30th or if they had real bad luck on July 31. They would be July filers also.

Whoops, that is not quite right is it? The prices went up on July 30th, so anyone with a postmark of July 30 or 31 is subject to the higher fees.

However, they are still July filers and can hang out with us cool kids. ;)
