We filed in April and I am starting to think I will be lucky if I can get there by December. The approvals seem to have slowed down lately. I hope that the higher fees mean they will hire more staff and process the applications a little quicker but I am not holding my breath.

17th March 2010 - Started the removal of conditions process

22nd March 2010 - Application received by CSC

30th April 2010 - Biometrics appointment

really? i have never heard that before...does someone look over all of the petitions to make sure they are complete, before they actually go through and decide whether or not the petition is approved? so one generally gets an rfe much earlier than they would have been expecting to get the approval notice?

I'm sure it depends on the processing center. Since VSC USED TO (not currently) processed applications in about 30 days, a touch in the first 4 weeks would have been GREAT. I don't know about now, though.

So, now that we July filers are waiting around for NOA-2, how exactly do we resist the overwhelming urge to check our petition status online several times per day, even though we have signed up for email notification and haven't received any email? It's a completely illogical thing to do, and yet it is also completely compulsive. Or am I the only one???

Nope it's not just you, I check mine several times a day too!

I'm hoping that I'll check less and less as the time goes by though. :D

As far as I know CSC receives the case, assigns a case number and then put's the case into a box on a shelf until it reaches the front of the queue and is assigned to someone to work on. It seems that every once in a while an odd case gets put through early but this is the exception rather than the rule. I won't be bothering to check my status much until they have finished processing the April filers.

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

We sent our application to the Nebrasla SC and my NOA1 actually came with the statement "Your application is being processed at the California Service Center"....So I suppose that it came from CSC. Don't worry much about it. It will get processed somewhere anyway.
