MAY!!?? Wow...no way. I'd say we should all have NOA2s by around December...then all you have wait for is the NVC (2 weeks)...then the embassy

no way it should take 11 months for all this.

How long does the embassy normally take? I know it differs but any ideas on London? Still trying to figure out if I can get my visa in time for my wedding if we get our NOA2 in December... It's dropped another day again :ranting:

the dress. the dress. the dress. i can't stop crying. we were planning on having a religious ceremony for our families and friends, in germany right after christmas. now we just got notice from the priests that they would risk their jobs if they would do it, due to the legal link between church and state in germany. you have to be legally married first. what we obviously cant.

so. i just bought my dress. it fits the most perfect. i even already got the shoes. for a weddign in 2 years or so. we want to have our ceremony in germany whatsoever. i means the world for us. my sibblings can't afford plane tickets to the US as they have a bunch of kids.

want to have a peek at the dress?

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_d...mp;prodgroup=10

it hangs in my closet and is sad....

you could just stop the K1, get married there like you want in germany with everything and then do the CR-1. its not that much longer than a k1 and its easier on the backside to get your green card and citizenship etc.

Ok, i just saw something a little bothersome... I have a lawyer for our K-1 visa, and there's a place on the lawyer's site to look at the progress of everyone at the law firm's K-1 visas through the VSC... Since my application was submitted towards the end of July, the law firm estimates a 60-90 waiting period for my NOA2. Anyone who's submitted an application in August has a waiting date of 150-180 days... YIKES! I never actually did receive a paper copy of my NOA1, does it say on there an "estimated waiting time"? I'm just wondering where my lawyer is getting these estimated waiting times....

Perhaps they are getting their data directly from USCIS's website. They claim to be working on cases received in mid February. But we all know that's just to cover their butts!

There is no estimated waiting time on the hard copy of the NOA1.

I think either your lawyer has some contacts at USCIS who are giving him/her the inside scoop or he/she is assuming that a big rush of pre increase petitions will slow things down quite a bit.

Why don't you ask your lawyer and then let us know what you find out?

Just a little useless info. I work as a waiter in Williamsburg, Virginia. Believe it or not, its one of the most lucrative spots in the country to hold such a side job. Most every waiter here has a second, primary job. A few of my coworkers are in fact law degree holders. And a few of them specialize in immigration law. Before I began this journey they each told me the same thing...."save your money" "immigration law is an easy cash cow" "anyone with a brain can be as successful as an immigration lawyer" , etc, etc. Most will agree that we have the same advantages as any immigration lawyer, but only when the case is legit and cut and dry. My divorce lawyer was almost my new fiancee's immigration lawyer, but he told me the same. I think I'm in the wrong business!

Most residents of Williamsburg attend the College of William and Mary. It is known for its law school. And also known for graduates not getting out of the hospitality industry because the money is too easy. Sad, I know.

I think London takes around 2 months but you would probably be better off posting this question in the UK forum.

17th March 2010 - Started the removal of conditions process

22nd March 2010 - Application received by CSC

30th April 2010 - Biometrics appointment

It typically takes around 2 months. However, the London Consulate is usually very accomodating for those who have planned weddings. When you send in Packet 3 you need to indicate what your anticipated travel date is and the actual wedding date. They have been very good about making sure people get their interviews in time to travel for weddings.

As I'm a "glass is half full" sort of person here's my take on the "up side" of this... okay, since I haven't had the whole package returned to me by Nebraska (or California by now) I feel I can safely assume that they saw the postmark was before July-30 and have accepted the submission of an application with a $170 check as "okay".

My glass is getting less and less full every day...!!! Two more days and the check has still not hit my bank.

Our Visa Journey

07/29/07 ---- Mailed I-129F

08/25/07 --- Check finally cashed (8/27 I should be able to see the R number on the back).

08/27/07 --- NOA1 Arrives from CSC and I create my account profile on the USCIS.Gov web-site (the clock starts)!!!

02/05/08 --- After 191 days NOA2 (Approval) comes at last!!!!

2/14/08 --- NVC sends letter saying that it's on the way to the US Embassy in Bangkok

2/25/08 --- She receives Packet 3 from the Embassy

3/29/08 --- She receives Packet 4 with interview date (July 11th).

3/30/08 --- I e-mail the Embassy asking to make the date earlier because I've already got our tickets for June 13th!!!

5/6/08 --- No help from the Embassy. Rebooked tickets and vacation till September.

5/21/08 --- Embassy calls her and moves interview to May 27th!!!!! You have got to be kidding me!!!

9/21/08 --- POE San Francisco!!!!

12/8/08 --- Married!!!!

12/15/08 --- Mail AOS + AP + EAD package to Chicago

12/28/08 --- Come back from vacation and find AOS/AP/EAD NOA 1 and Bio App notices in the mailbox!!!

1/13/09 --- Bio Appt

4/22/09 --- AOS Interview "APPROVED"!!!

3/04/2011 --- OUR BABY IS BORN... We have a son!!!!!

3/10/2011 --- Mail I-751 application to lift conditions on residency

3/12/2011 --- I-751 Package received by CSC

3/14/2011 --- NOA 1

3/21/2011 --- NOA 2 (Biometrics Appt 4/18/2011)

5/27/2011 --- ROC Approved. 10 Year Green Card arrived 6/04/2011

Well, still waiting on the NOA1 :/ It's been a while now, should we call in?

I sent it to the Texas center, I assume it takes a bit more time to be forwarded to Vermont, but this is getting to be too much...almost a month when others received theirs in a few days.
