Alyson, you can obviously deal with stress a lot better than I can. If I'd made any plans like you I'd been on medication by now! :D

Scott and I have made very 'loose' plans. If we get the visa in time I plan to fly out there (Massachusetts) on 12th Jan, then we'll fly to Vegas on 28th Jan and get married on 30th Jan. However, nothing is booked and nothing is paid for so we can just put everything back if need be. Having said that I'm keeping everything crossed for a 12th Jan move.

Jeremy just said that I can't take too much credit because it is him that bears the brunt of me being horrible when I am stressing! I told him that I thought I was doing rather well ;) He does help though I guess ;)

It's pretty lame that the projected dates are getting later and later for NOA2 but again, as much as I hope it all works out in our favour I am glad we have a contingency and that I can see the good in it - it isn't the best solution but at least we know it isn't the end of the world - I just hate the not knowing - I can't book flights or make arrangements for my cat or anything until I know!

Anyway - finished watching season 5 of 24 and now onto season 6 - hate this trying to stay up as late as poss on the last night ;D Although Jeremy is arranging some kind of crazy surprise for me that involves me going to sleep before him... I said as long as that means I get a nice massage before I go to bed then that should be fine!!! Will be back here more often as of Wednesday as I re-assert my new-found "single-ish" status ;D

Oh you have my sympathy, the saying goodbye is never easy. Will you get a chance to see him again before the 'big move'?

I'm flying out to see Scott on 29 Sep for 10 days then that'll be it for us until the visa is issued.

I hope your surprise is a nice one and I hope your goodbye isn't too dreadful. :(

I'd say all the talk about CSC delay due to spike of last minute, pre fee increase, applications is pretty spot on.

I sent ours (to the NSC) on the 29th of July and USPS shows it received (at NSC) on 1-Aug and here it is the 20th and they still haven't deposited my check... wait, let me check on-line at my bank (for the 12th time today)... nope, still no $170 check showing.

As I'm a "glass is half full" sort of person here's my take on the "up side" of this... okay, since I haven't had the whole package returned to me by Nebraska (or California by now) I feel I can safely assume that they saw the postmark was before July-30 and have accepted the submission of an application with a $170 check as "okay".

Here's why I figure California hasn't deposited my check yet... since my package went to Nebraska first I'm sure it sat around there a few days b/4 it got sent (with a bunch of others) off to California. I figure they don't collect up all the checks for deposit right away but rather wait to actually process the NOA1 b/4 they cash the check so now I figure I'm just waiting, and waiting, and waiting... for CSC to process my package like all the rest of them and I'm somewhere in the pile. I'm pretty sure that my position in the pile is a matter of nothing more scientific than random chance (actually random chance times 2 since I sent to NSC first).

I want to call just to get that piece of mind that it made it to CSC but on the other hand I swear I'm not going to do it...!!! If I were to talk to some over-paid, under-worked, G13 and have to listen to them gripe and moan and tell me to be patient "I'd go postal". I'm going to exercise some restraint and go down to the gym in my apartment and workout instead.

Oh if only I'd have finished the package 1 week sooner... I'd have NOA1 by now and most likely that 1 week would have shaved 6 off of the total time to Visa!!! Oh well. It's my own damn fault no one elses.

PLEASE CASH MY CHECK...

My case is at CSC and to tell you all the truth I'm feeling kind of down after reading all of the updates....I'm hoping and praying that Ricardo will have his visa in hand by May of '08, is that a good estimate? I hope so because it's the only way I can stay sane through all of this...

Good luck to everyone

There really is no rhyme or reason to when people are receiving their NOA1 from the CSC. Some people are receiving theirs in a week or two, while others are waiting weeks with nothing to show. We sent in our package on July 25th and the delivery was confirmed on July 27th. Our money order was cashed on August 3rd but we still don't have our NOA1! Go figure. Patience is a virtue...patience is a virtue...patience is a virtue...

You see... that's what I'm talking about... If I'd only have gotten my ####### together and sent the package in 1 week earlier I wouldn't be sitting here having this existential meltdown!!! The above went from one SC to another SC and had NOA1 entered in 12 days (I've seen shorter from early July) and after 21 all I want is for them to deposit my check.

Okay so working out didn't help... oh and I read all 18 pages of that Huskerkiev thread too (talk about insight).

I don't care so much about NOA1... I just want my R number so I know I'm "in the system" and for them to cash my check. I'll lay down for a nice long nap just as soon as I know that CSC has the ball and I'm in the system...

I know how you are feeling. I am also kicking myself for not getting the petiton filed sooner. And yes, you'll feel much better once you are in the system. I sure did.... For about 5 minutes. Then I started worrying about an RFE.

There are 57 July filers who currently have Nebraska or Texas on their Visa Journey timeline.

Since all of these petitions are being adjudicated in either California or Vermont, it seems to me that VJ statistics and projections would be more accurate if all the timelines showed either California or Vermont as the service center. As it stands now, any USCIS actions on the Nebraska and Texas petitions will not have any impact on the projections of CSC and VSJ petitions.

I believe the hard copy of the NOA1 shows where the petition is being adjudicated.

Does anyone else think it would be better for all of us if members with Texas and Nebraska petitions changed their VJ timeline service center to California or Vermont?

Hmmm . . . OK. I changed ours so that it reflects CSC (adjudication) instead of NSC (actual filing). Pushed us back a week lol. Oh well, it is what it is . . . I'm starting to become philisophical about the whole thing.
