GeordieLover, your interview is a whole month after me, and yet you already know! I got one week's notice...

I wonder what they're doing... I just don't understand anything about this; there seems to be no logic to the process at all

however, I am pleased to note here that I came home from a night away (work) to find my Aussie police check waiting for me on the hall table :D

apparently, four days after it was posted, in Australia

I now have everything I need for the interview (though I still need to get stuff in order, and copy some papers, and print out some emails to show David and I actually talk to each other...)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Oh StP - I can't believe it all happened so quickly for you! Part of me hopes I don't have too long to get nervous about it but long enough to get things together!

Just talking to mum about shipping my stuff - she doesn't think I should ship everything over right away (which makes sense really - will be broke for starters!!) and wants me to store it in the attic - that is going to be a task and a half!!!

Thank goodness it arrived! That must be a weight off your shoulders.

I am hoping I get short notice on the interview too. I too can't understand why people have been getting early March dates and suddenly Geordielover gets stuck in April.

Anyway, I'm not holding my breath either. So many things have been delayed in my process so far that I'm convinced that's just the way of it and it hasn't made us feel any different about each other despite the stress of it at times. As things stand, the timing has worked well for me as my job finishes just before Easter. I am hoping to be able to make it out there for the 25th so I can make the annual Las Vegas trip with him and some of our friends. We're thinking of doing a drive thru wedding or something similar, just for the fun of it, since we're planning the ceremony we want for later in the Summer when my family can make it.

If I don't make it in time, well I'll be upset but it's not going to spoil our future. )

Best of luck for your interview StP. Can't wait to hear you got approved :)

Yay babbles - I love your outlook :) I feel much the same and I think it is amazing that this process has taught us all so much - I think I have learned that where I used to think that things had to be done a certain way, now I know that this doesn't always have to be the case and that there are so many differences and variations to weddings and relationships and that none of them are right or wrong - just special because of their differences :)

Profound moment, sorry :D

thank you everyone, very much, for your good wishes :)

yes, babbles - I was SO happy to see that letter when I got in last night! I really didn't expect it :)

I'm not that nervous, actually - I see it as a done deal, to be honest (though that may be foolish)... just want to make sure I've got everything they could possibly ask for, re paperwork ;)
