I am trying so hard to stay calm...

I picture in my mind that this process is similar to the Loi Krathong when you build a lotus flower boat out of banana leafs and put your prayers in it then send it off down the river. So our applications are like Krathong... we've sent them off into the turbulent waters of the USCIS process at nearly the same time but each has taken a slightly different path. Some will be stuck in an eddy for a short time; some will find a quick smooth route but all will arrive at the end in their own time.

My congratulations to those of you who have made it past this first obstacle b/4 us and all my hopes and prayers go with you as you move forward.

How do you find out which city issued your passport? I am assuming London but I can't see it written anywhere so I wanted to double check...

Btw - am filling in forms now so expect lots of silly questions

I think that is the Authority section of your passort.

The Philippine passport has this in the Issuing authority section.

That is the best way to look at it. I'm totally with you on how hard it is but there is absolutely nothing we can do but hope our NOA2's float into shore soon - loved extending that metaphor!

Do you know where you applied for your passport? For example, I got mine in Durham. I'm sure 'London' will be fine if you don't know since I can't see anywhere on the passport where it states which office issued it.

mine was issued from glasgow so I put that. but it doesn't say anything on the actual passport

Yeah - I just put London - I figured they can query it if they want but how am I meant to know if it doesn't say?! Saying that, how are *they* meant to know if it doesn't say!!

And is it right that of the four forms you fill in you only need to sign the one before sending it off? I have them all filled out now which is something at least - almost all set to go - even copied my police cert and birth cert so I have loads of copies of everything

Oh and another thing - I asked it somewhere else as well but I was wondering if anyone knew whether we get back our original I-129f packets that we sent off all those months ago? We naively sent all original stuff because we knew no better and I would really like to have it all back - I am just concerned that I won't get it back... I mean what do they do with it all?!?!

Nope mine doesn't either. Just GBP in the issued by section. I'm going on memory there, having looked at it 5 minutes ago, but I'll be putting Durham down.

Maybe you could take copies with you and ask for a swap. Might work!

Haha - yeah - I just saw the answer in the UK thread Glad we get it back... kinda... Ohhh how naive we were when we sent it all off!!! I really don't understand how people get through the process without this site!!!
