Oh grr - I can never remember all the numbers to press but if you look for mox under members then view his signature - he has instructions in there :)

Also I have added the spreadsheet link to my siggie but not sure it works - let me know if you have trouble with it and I will figure it out when I get home :)

Let me know how you get on with the RFE trick thing :) It's just a more reliable way of speaking to someone at CSC :)

I thought all divorce decrees had the judges signature??

Our RFE was for further evidence of a relationship and they also wanted divorce decrees. They already had them but because they were not signed by a judge or a court authority, they requested them again. They received our evidence on the 28th of December, but we are still waiting.

Okay after a half-way decent nights sleep I must apologize for my snotty attitude in my post from last night.

A good night's sleep does wonders for my CSC-induced stress levels too. :) It's all good.

I must have missed the post(s) about RFE trick... what is it?

Take a look at my signature. You can use it to get a real live human being at your service center.

Thanks...

Okay, I don't like the RFE Trick AT ALL!!!

I went through the prompts and after entering my case number I get:

"You need to submit the evidence that was requested. If you believe that you have already submitted the requested evidence please note that in your written response to the office. If you don't understand what you need to submit... press 1 to speak with a representative"

So after getting to someone (Scott #100LM) he says that he doesn't see an RFE and that my case is pending. He asks how I found that there was an RFE and I tell him. He says - let me transfer you to an immigration officer and maybe they can look deeper.

So I get to the next person (accent so think I can't understand the name) and explain that the automated "check the status of a pending application" phone system says that they are waiting for evidence and he puts me on hold for a few minutes. When he comes back he says there's no RFE but that my case is still pending a decision.

I have the same problem. Nick is 2 inches taller than me but works out and can eat anything without putting on a pound. It's not fair. I'm so worried that I won't fit into my dress. I've been told that all brides lose a few pounds in the weeks before the wedding due to the stress. Add to that the stress we face of USCIS and moving and I should be super skinny by my wedding date.

So I don't think I quite understand...do you actually have an RFE? The RFE "trick" is just a way of actually getting to speak with a customer service person. You don't want to actually tell them you have an RFE.

If he said your case is "pending a decision," it sounds like it's at least on somebody's desk. That's got to be promising news.

Completely off-topic here, but babybluesusie I just now noticed your avatar...seems to be flossing. I don't know why, but that strikes me as just the coolest avatar ever. I lol'd. :D

Okay, back to the non-flossing related discussion at hand...

As far as I understand it, "pending a decision" just means the same as it did the day after you sent in the petition. Sorry to be negative.

The phone system "said" that I must send in whatever evidence has been requested. That, to me, sounds like the "system" thinks there's an RFE. After some thought I believe that it's a generic phone message on the system and it's simply telling me that since I've chosen the prompts to get to this spot clearly I must have an RFE and that I should send in what they are asking for. It's just that since you get this message after you've entered in your Receipt # and the system goes away and looks up your status it makes you feel like the system thinks you've been issued an RFE.

I agree that since "dude" came back and said that they my case is pending a decision it "might" be on someones desk and I "should" hear something soon. Shouldn't that generate a "touch" though???

We called with the RFE trick. The system message is generic. What you're actually doing is pretending to have an RFE in order to speak with someone. When you do speak with someone they vary on their helpfulness. They will, at a minimum, check the case update online system and tell you what you already know i.e. "case received and pending". This will generate a touch on the system. However, some reps are more helpful and will actually go and investigate further than the case update online system so it is worth trying. Some people have had approvals shortly after using the RFE trick which is why the VJ community generally asks people to reserve using this method until your application has been in the system a long time.

I apologise if I'm being negative about your petition being on someone's desk (it may well be!) but certainly he would have only checked the same thing you see online. Call again sometime and say you're concerned about the petition as you are now over the six month period. Be nice and maybe they will actually look to see if it is on someone's desk.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Ellar,

As i understand RFE stands for request for evidence? - my fiance was asked to send a copy of the car wrecked case he had last 1987 from the courthouse that the case is closed. I don't know if that paper will move our papers faster....

helo rick's,

thanks for the information, its makes me less worry...:)
