Oh - quick other thought - I want to try and get my interview date and medical for the same day - do I just need to wait on getting my interview date back then book my medical then? What are the chances of them not having a slot for me for the medical on the same day?

I think this may be very very risky. Usually interviews are held early in the morning. I doubt you'd have the medical done in time to get to your interview. Why not get it sooner? Its good for a good long while. what if something happens and your medical appointment is pushed back? Or even cancelled? That would really suck.

several people have done this in london. you get your interview early morning then medical in afternoon. Just means that if you get approved it's pending medicla results so as long as you are fit, healthy and not diseased you'd be fine. Julezabelles OH griff did this. The embassy and medical place are literally no more than 10-15mins walk away from each other.

Hehe - yeah - thanks for clarifying that moxie :)

Debz - I will go through and update CSC from member timelines and pm anyone who hasn't updated or I think needs a nudge! I was italicising and striking out the names of the people that haven't been active etc just so if they want to be added back it is easy enough!! Maybe if you do VSC and I do CSC then it will be more manageable! I did the first 50 in my lunch break and lost it all

Weird that it won't load but maybe once it is working for you again we can get it all updated!! Soon we'll be recording our AOS dates - although I think we should advertise that in our new cosy room :D

Yeah - I just want to save myself two trips to London if I can - I wouldn't describe it as risky - I know I will get my visa pending med results but I am in no rush so I figured if I could save a little money while waiting then it could only be a good thing - just wondered if there was a half decent way of arranging it to work like that :)

@ Audrey hang in there...it's coming. I've still got all my available digits crossed.

@ thee rak....get a return flight, that's what I'll be doing. Play around with the return date as you'll be able to make it whenever you want so put it several weeks away and it will probably get cheaper.

@ Aly..I can't get spreadsheet to load, haven't been able to for nearly a week now, not amused.

another question: what are you guys doing concerning health insurance for the US?

Hope the 8 ball thingy works Audrey and it brings the rest of us some luck too. I get the same feeling sometimes about people moving forward and me stagnating. It's hard but I am happy to read about everyone's plans and excitement. There just doesn't seem like an awful lot to talk about without saying the same thing over and over. I want my NOA2. I want to know how long I need a job here for. I thought getting a job that ended at easter had covered all the bases. Looks like it may not :(

180 days today :(

I really hope the rest of the july filers see movement very soon. This has gone on too long for you all.

I'm currently trying to work out US banks..which are good, which are bad and how long it will take until I'm able to get to my own money without paying huge charges. I can either transfer it to Nick's account and then rely on him to give me an allowance lol or can pay a fortune to use money from my uk account.

I'd recommend not taking all ur money out of UK since the economy in the US is not doing too well. There is talk of a recession and the stock market keeps plummeting everyday. Alot of the banks are in trouble too. There was some businees with America west..can't remember what the details were.

i will do the same with eric's insurance, but what about the time UNTIL you get married whenever you are already in the US?

i heard so many nightmare stories of people running into 80000-debt because they didn't have insurance for a week and bad luck for one day. :( *scared*

i think i'll have a MASSIVE candybar tonite while watching CSI and Dr. House.

or two.

Mars or Snickers sounds great.....

did i mention that i am on a low calory diet and that i am already 200kcal over my budget for the day?

and the only thing i can think of is a big hug and cuddling from my loved one, OR A MARS. even a mars midnight. it will be USCIC's fault if i weigh as much as an elefant by the time i get there.

What the heck...

This is nuts!!! I can book a round-trip flight from the West Coast USA (LAX - BKK - SFO) for $1,099 on Cathay Pacific but booking the one-way Cathay flight from BKK to SFO (exact flight as the return leg above) is $1,700!!!!!

Can someone explain that to me???

What would the risks be of buying a round-trip ticket for her from BKK - SFO - BKK even though she is entering the US on a K1? Do you think that the agent at SFO would deny entry because she was holding a return ticket?

Hey guys, I just wanted to add a brilliant idea about the flights that Matthew came up with. He is flying from London to Seattle and the one-way ticket was nearly twice as much as the roundtrip so we booked a roundtrip with obviously no intention of using the return ticket!!! but (and here is the brilliant part) since he will not be using the return ticket he booked it from New York to London and saved 100 pounds!!!! So the arrival ticket is London to Seattle, returning like a month later from New York to London. It never even crossed my mind, but booking the return from New York to London is so much cheaper because it is a shorter flight. So those of you booking one way tickets, try playing around with the return portion of the trip from places on the east coast and also the day - flying on tuesday was the cheapest! Just wanted to share!!!

@Jeraly - you can add us to the July Filer Csc-ers that are making the big move in January! Matthew arrives here one week from today JAN 29th!!!!!! to stay forever and forever. this is the slowest week EVER!!!! I have so much to get done and just can't concentrate on anything!!!
