hi guys!

I'm back from my medical.

it took 4h total (most of the time waiting in between bloodwork, peeing test, xrays...).

so now i'm freaking out if my bloodwork and peeing test turn out ok. (i guess i have to worry about something to be able to function).

anyway: intersting remark of the doctor: i was the ONLY person in 2 days that had all the necessary vaccinations. i mean: it's a medical office where they do visa-medicals each morning. the whole office is reserved for the medicals. and nobody had all the vaccinations???? the embassy wrote in pack 3 and 4 that you are REQUIRED to have the vaccinations BEFORE the medical. :o .

are people just more relaxed than i am, or am i just a controlfreak?

HASSLE is right! Not to mention the $340 fee...I might have needed a new AmEx card myself!

Is that typical, the medical taking 4 hours? That seems like a long time!

And am glad there is no peeing test in the UK - always worried I might miss...

THE VACCINATIONS ARE NOT PART OF THE FEE!!!

if you don't have them at the date of the medical, you have to go back home, get the shots from your general doc at home, and send your vaccination-pass-thingy to the medical-office in franfurt.

the fee covers the blood works, peeing test and xrays and the other stuff.

fee is between 125 and 200€. varies if you go in frankfurt, hamburg or munich.

There is atleast one writeup that says that in Manila St. Lukes includes the vaccinations as a part of the fee, if you know to request it when you are there.

I'll have to ask in the Philippine forum for confirmation then. I just assumed that the writeup was correct.

Damn, too late can't edit.

I just found this in the Philippine forum. Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide

4.6 St. Luke's Extension Clinic (SLEC) information is within my signature. The beneficiary and derivative(s) are required to have medical exam(s) and vaccination shots before a visa can be issued (per the US Immigration Laws) and should be taken before the visa interview. Family and/or friends are prohibited from entering the facility, unless otherwise required.

The medical exam, adminstered by SLEC, is a two days process:

Day 1 is the medical exam whereas the beneficiary's passport will be taken and sent to the USE along with the medical exam results and;

Day 2 is the vaccination whereas the beneficiary will be given the x-ray film and the DS-3025 Vaccination Worksheet/Record at the conclusion.

I understood we didn't HAVE to have the vaccinations for the London medical, but they must be done before AOS...?

I've had all of them - even had rubella, AND the shot  - but have no record of them :(

I asked my mum to check with my childhood doctor, but it's a very long shot... I think he's retired

and while I have the records somewhere, they're in a box in a Sydney storage space, and there is no hope in HELL of finding them right now

I thought I could wait til I get there, by which time I will have cleared said storage space and maybe found the records... am I right in that thinking? or should I make an appointment with my GP?

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

according to what I have read you are required to have them to enter the the country for immigration. however, k1 visas are not technically considered immigrants until the marriage happens. so in that sense no you do not NEED them. if you read the documents they say not having them is not grounds for denial. but yes you need them for the aos as at that time you filing to be an immigrant.

for us philippine filers we get the vaccinations as a part of the medical with the exception of the td vaccine which can be gotten easily here in the states.

k3 visas however are different. they are immigrants so I believe the vaccinations are a requirement for entry.

I think that is correct...you need them for AOS...not the K-1 visa.

Also thinking that the medical gets submitted for AOS along with everything else, right? So ,if you've had all the jabs before the medical and they are listed on the medical report...well, I'd imagine it probably makes life in this bin of red tape easier.

I'm confused...are you in the UK or AZ? Are you under NHS? How long ago did you have your jabs?

My SO has an appt. next week to get them done and we were told there was no charge! :D This is from his NHS Doctor's office, they had his all his records (with the excepetion of MMR) but all his vaccinations were over 10 years old...which is too old, so he was told that he needs to get boosters.
