Bogota, Colombia starts at 7:00 AM and everyone has their appointment at the same time. People start lining up at 5:30 AM.

If you want to call the embassy to discuss your petition you can do so during a 2 hour window Wednesday afternoon. If you can't get through during those 2 hours you have to wait until the following week to ty again.

Obviously they try to make things as convenient as possible for petitioners and beneficiaries.

 Sounds almost as good as CSC... ;)

** Airliner crash-lands at Heathrow **

A BA passenger jet from China crash-lands short of a Heathrow runway

after reportedly losing power.

It appears that everyone is fine. Whew!

Yeah - I must've missed that - I don't tend to watch a lot of TV so was blissfully unaware - that is pretty scary!! Amazing that the pilot did so well!! Any news on those touches as well yet Audrey? I had a dream last night that you were approved!! :D

I have been away for a while. Bhushan and I got into this huge fight the day after our approval and did not talk for a week (that has never happened before!) and then finally realized all the trivial things matter little and that theres only a little more while before we can be together again. We will pick up on our fight again when he gets here ;)

 Jeremy and I fight as well - I think it is a sign of a good relationship that you can argue about things and know the difference between sorting something out and breaking up. Sometimes it is good to clear the air ;) Here's to many future fights where we can make up properly!! I mean the "kiss-and-make-up" of course :innocent:

hello guys! USCIS mailed another notice of action today I-797C. This Monday, I received NOA2 I797. Does anyone know what the difference. According to my sister who read both mails over the phone, they state the same content. Thanks!

Hi!! Your NOA2 meant the service centre you are with has approved the I-129f petition sent by the USC. They will now forward your case to the National Visa Centre and then they will forward it to the US Embassy in the beneficiary's home country :) The embassy will then contact the beneficiary with more forms to fill out!!! Then you get interview/medical things :) I know this tends to vary a little by country so... ;)

Called NVC today, our petition has left NVC and is on its way to manila. I tracked it thru DHL so now finally i feel our process is moving and we are getting close to having the waits behind us...WooHoo

Chris - you are so emphatic! You're like my mum - she never uses any !!! Great news that things are moving though!! Jeremy called DOS yesterady - apparently the embassy hasn't received our case yet... the date it left tallys with what I was tracking though so they prolly just haven't entered it onto their system yet :) Sooo exciting though!!

Oh, I meant to say they filed in May. Each time they try to call USCIS and talk about '6 months', they still get the same answer, that there's nothing to worry about.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that the processing times on the USCIS website aren't too accurate.

I wish all I had to be nervous about is Charry's interview which is coming up but I have another thing that is vying for my nervousness.

My mom went in to the hospital to have the doctors look at an anurism in her head as a follow up to them putting coils into it to help block it off and reinforce it so it will not rupture. The surgury to look at it took 2 hours. She was then kept in bed for 4 hours after that to have all her meds wear off.

She was on her way out of the hospital when she lost control of her left leg. She still has feeling but she has no motor control.

The doctors say she had a minor stroke. It seems that a small peice of clot that was at the site of the anurism broke away and traveled down one of the vessles in that area of the brain and blocked it off long enough to essentially "kill" the cels that control her leg.

My sister used to work in physical therapy so she says my mom will have a long way to go to come back from this.

I'm not sure what our plans are now. Originally I was finally going to move out of the house prior to having Charry come here. But now, with my mom out of work and needing to recover from this, I think we might have to stay here to help pay for the house. We will have to see about what the family says about this.

My sister has always been against me getting married to Charry. Her belief is that anyone who is not from the US is always trying to get in any way possible. Originally she posed that, if Charry were to stay even one night here in the house, she would leave the family forever. My mom then said we could never stay here because of my sister, now I think it might be required because without my mom working my dad can not afford the mortgage alone.

My IV Schedule same. Feb. 26 at 7AM and Interview Mar. 4 at 7AM.......Am I dreaming.....Someone pinch me!!!!!!!

Congratulations! My girlfriend's interview is the same day at 6:30 AM, so they will probably see each other there. Any ideas yet for airline tickets?

Chris your deal about China air sounds great for the trip here. But, like everyone says don't jump the gun and get the tix before the interview.

As for a plane to Manila, Charry has to travel from Tacloban to Manila and she wants a friend to go with her, I'm fine with that.

I found round trip for 2 people on PAL is 5,940 PHP. I might have her see if it is any cheaper if she were to purchase them in her local PAL office.

Can you believe that the tix cost itself is only 176 PHP and they charge 2,794 PHP per person in tax?

I have been talking to someone else whose fiancee has the same interview dates as Charry. He found a hotel for about $25 a night near the embassy and the medical center. So I might take that deal.

Well I'm off to shovel the driveway before heading back to the hospital. :(

I am sorry to hear about your Mom, hoping she will be well on her way to recovery soon.

Your sister...sadly, it seems to be very common opinion among people of a certain mindset. I am sorry that she just does not get that you are entitled to pursue a happy life with your new wife and it is none of her £^@*!^` business. What a hateful bigoted nerve, the way in which she has chosen to divide your family is deplorable...and sadly, it seems she was allowed to get away with it...shameful! I truly hope a clear solution presents itself soon and that you are able to do what is best for yourself and your wife to be. Perhaps with all that has happened she'll come to the realization that life is too short to act like and idiot?

It's the seating in our new room that I set up for when we are no longer K-1 filers :) I said you can come in if you pull up a bean bag (or comfy seating of your choice) and we can gossip there about how we are getting on - this thread will slowly become redundant as we all move Stateside (or have our OHs move over:P) and we will all be filing AOS at different times so it is a way of keeping in touch - you can find it in the "Moving here and your new life in America" forum or whatever it is called

Arrta - I am sorry to hear about your mom - I hope everything works out ok *hugs*
