*whine, complain, grumble, moan, pout* I'm currently at 161 days with no end in sight. I always go through a Winter depression and this really isn't helping things. As much as I despise any concept of "normal," I'd give anything for my case to be a normal one and to receive my NOA2. This wait is so difficult.

Ignore me, I just need to vent.

Defo - and that is the way I want to look at it - even if I am a few months behind you guys!!!

What I was saying though is that it will no longer be K-1 progress because we will all be going through AoS - now because we are all going through it at different times I don't want to break up our little group when we start joining our respective AoS threads :D Would be nice for this initial group to have a little thread somewhere to generally chat gossip moan and b!tch!!! :D

I'm with ya Aly - I wasn't even thinking about an AOS thread but more a July 2007 K1 friends thread! We gotta stick together! I love you guys!!!! :luv:

Yeah, stuck here, too. Sent July 27th, forwarded to California, NOA1 on August 25th. No touches, no information, still waiting. It's extremely depressing.

Well we were aiming for about 30 but Jeremy's family have been... shall we say... less than helpful - as it is we are having to pay for his brother, sister, mother and aunt to come or he would have no family there at all... Our wedding planner is coming as a guest though as she organised pretty much the whole thing then lost her job when work dried up!! :)

Ohhhh and I wonder how Griff is getting on - I would say Julez must be so excited if she weren't asleep... saying that, maybe she *can't* sleep she is that excited

I hardly slept at all!!! Griff rang at 4:30 US time to tell me he'd been approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First they collected his paperwork, where they remarked about how organized he was! Sat back down for 2 mins, then they called his name first. Said the guy asked him exactly 3 questions, as follows:

  1. Where did you meet?
  2. Do you remember when that was?
  3. Why will you live in the US as opposed to the UK?
The guy said, "I see your medical is this aftertoon, so once we have those results your passport and visa will arrive a few days later. Have a good day."

Griff said he walked out euphoric, but slightly disappointed that they didn't want to see any of the evidence of our ongoing relationship!!!! Said the onlu person who got a look at any of our photos was the fight attendant from BA he waited in line with outside the embassy who was there to collect her visa!

OK, just wanted to give you guys the brief rundown, now I must finish getting ready for work!! :D Will be back once I arrive there!!!!! *so happy*

Wonderful news. I'm so happy for you. It's also heart-warming to know that things are really happening for July filers and that we'll all be reunited with our loved ones really soon. If I could, I'd buy you a pint! Congrats :D

Congratulations!

They keep touching you! :o

That has to be good :D

I feel the same way as you!! And talk of this thread closing because of everyone moving on to AOS is really depressing and feels like a door slamming in my face. I thought I was the only July filer left waiting for a NOA2. I also have winter depression (I'm north of you in WI...ugh the fog right now) and this process is killing me. I have developed insomnia, crying jags and total anxiety. I'm normally a calm patient person and maybe i'm internalizing and that's why i'm not dealing well, idk.

Sorry, I had to vent a little too.

*hugs to you*

Thanks guys!!!!! We are so thrilled! :dancing: :joy: :dancing:

Congratulations on the approval julezabelle!

And Congrats on the interview dates, it is really wonderful that the timing has worked out so well for people!

For my part, I have tried calling NVC both Friday and Today and can not get thru (will try again later tonight), hoping CSC has forwarded our petition by now...it has been over a month since USCIS approved our case and we still have not received the hard copy of NOA2. I called about getting another copy and was told I would need to file a I-824 which can take 6 months to process and seems to carry a nice $340 filing fee...so now I need to do a bit of research and see exactly what we need the hard copy of the NOA2 for, if anything.

Other than that I've been sitting here, quietly staring out the window...trying to figure out how an ordinary person could collect $340 for doing something that takes 20 seconds...armed robbery is the only thing that has come to mind.

Oh, and Happy New Years!

Oh that just makes me sick that they would CHARGE YOU for THEIR mistake!! LAME is all I can think of. And then make you wait 6 months for it too? #######?

I'm sorry you guys are still waiting for NOA2! That is just retarculous!

No worries on the thread closure. Once it hits a certain #, the captain will close it, but we'll open a new one here! No one will be left behind!!!

And yes, debz, the hard part is well and truly over! Regardless of what some pessimists on this board say, AOS will be fine cos we'll be together. Even if it takes longer than the norm, we'll be fine cos we'll be there for each other to give support. A lot easier to do in person than over the internet!

Totally agreed with you! It will be alot easier with our SOs by our side!

I dont know anymore. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I feel like they touch my case, think okay lets approve it and then go back find something wrong with it and poof goes back into a pile. So lets hope they are all good touches. No touches for you? Maybe they will just approve the case and you will receive a nice shining NOA2. That would be awesome!

A smooth visa journey and much speed to all!

I know what you mean. The same thoughts go through my head. They've been "touching" my case since 12/14. I don't get it. There wasn't a whole lot of papers in our file so I can't imagine why they would possibly need to touch it that many times. It would take a whole 5 minutes to read it. Seriously.
