Haha - yeah - it's nice sometimes to have someone stressy around though - makes me feel much calmer!!!

I feel much more relaxed about going through Immigration now that I am going to have some decent evidence of ties to the UK - I can almost start panicking about the fact I am FREAKING GETTING MARRIED!!!!

I know there is a small percentage of men out there who actually do plan things, but why does it seem so heavily skewed in terms of the sexes? Why do so many men procrastinate while women plan away? I know I'm generalizing... but I just have so many female friends in similar situations! I guess that tells me I should accept things as they are. But it drives me crazy!!! I'm a bit (a lot?) obsessive compulsive, so even if I try what you said, Aly, and let them worry about it even if it means things will happen last minute, that just means I will stress about stuff until the very last minute! Arrrrrgggh.

This is from an email from Scott when he and I were just starting to talk to each other, dated May 8, 2002:

Reading all your men horror storties makes me all the more happy I found Griff!! He must have had me go over P3 with him 30 times and the list of docs he brought with him to the embassy 40 times! I kept telling him, we have everything!!! And I was right!

Update on the medfical. He just rang and said the doc remarked at how well controlled he is with his diabetes and wished him well on his new life in the US. Griff is so relieved and is now off to finally enjoy a pint even if it means he misses the earlier train home!

I love our thread, but we need to face that eventually Captain Ewok will ask us to shut this one down as its getting too huge! We can just continue somewhere else! As long as we all know where to find eachother, we'll be OK!

Regarding Griff and his pint - he certainly does deserve it! I'm only a bit sad I can't be there to raise a pint with him! But only 12 more days til I'm there with him! I can't wait!!!!!

And yes, debz, the hard part is well and truly over! Regardless of what some pessimists on this board say, AOS will be fine cos we'll be together. Even if it takes longer than the norm, we'll be fine cos we'll be there for each other to give support. A lot easier to do in person than over the internet!

And Congrats on the interview dates, it is really wonderful that the timing has worked out so well for people!

For my part, I have tried calling NVC both Friday and Today and can not get thru (will try again later tonight), hoping CSC has forwarded our petition by now...it has been over a month since USCIS approved our case and we still have not received the hard copy of NOA2. I called about getting another copy and was told I would need to file a I-824 which can take 6 months to process and seems to carry a nice $340 filing fee...so now I need to do a bit of research and see exactly what we need the hard copy of the NOA2 for, if anything.

Other than that I've been sitting here, quietly staring out the window...trying to figure out how an ordinary person could collect $340 for doing something that takes 20 seconds...armed robbery is the only thing that has come to mind.

Defo - and that is the way I want to look at it - even if I am a few months behind you guys!!!

What I was saying though is that it will no longer be K-1 progress because we will all be going through AoS - now because we are all going through it at different times I don't want to break up our little group when we start joining our respective AoS threads Would be nice for this initial group to have a little thread somewhere to generally chat gossip moan and b!tch!!!

As for your NOA2 hard copy, you do need it for AOS, so I'd really chase that one up with CSC.

You can also call Dept. of State (DOS) to see if you file made it to NVC. Its usually easier to get through to them.
