oops, you're right- it should be '08! That will be a very good day I'm sure! It's also the anniversary of my future in-laws- has proven to be a very good wedding date in the past!

It seems like you're well on your way to getting an interview date! We're not quite at that point yet, but we're hoping if all goes well, we'll have one by the end of January.... I'm sure you will have no trouble getting your visa in time!

When (fiance) and I applied for a Fiance Visa (interview was May 23 2007) we may not have supplied as much proof as required, therefore we didn't get the visa and it was sent back to NVC.(petition expired). I honestly didn't think it would be that difficult and didn't know how thorough I should have been. This time I will be flying down to attend the interview and both (fiances name) and I have made sure we have submitted a thorough and detailed package, including emails, monthly phone bills(detailed), my 4 trips including engagement, engagement photos (home ceremony and party my parents threw), as well as affidavits of support from both sides of our families and friends, proof of identity for both myself and Harpreet. I have also enclosed an affidavit from myself detailing how we were introduced, how we communicated and how we got engaged.

We are more than willing to prove how much we love and care for each other. We are very committed to get married.

I don't know if you remember me but I attended this discussion when we were still waiting for the NOA1s to arrive. Then Nick (my finance) came to visit and stayed for three months. That was wonderful. He got to meet my family more in depth (not always a good thing ) and understands better where I am coming from.

Anyway, I thought I share with you how he was welcomed back in his own country. He flew out of Amsterdam as he was flying stand-bye with NWA. He flew directly from Amsterdam to Minneapolis, where he lives. Well, the woman at the first stop (is that the IRS the one that determines if you are allowed into the country?) questioned him

W: why he was in Europe for three months. If he was planning on finding a wife and bringing her in the country.

He said he was visiting his finance.

W: She told him that he shouldn't think that he can just bring his finance in the country like that. If I would come to visit, they wouldn't even let me enter.

He told her that we already filed for the finance visa and that we are not planning on doing it any other way.

W: Did you take any illegal drugs while you were in the Netherlands?

He told her that he was not staying in Amsterdam but that he took the next train to Germany. and no he didn't

W: Did you work in Germany?

He told her no

W: What did you do there for three months every day? (I don't know if she was hinting at Terrorism but none of the stereotypes would describe him)

He said that he was traveling, helping my mom, getting to know my family and traditions.

Well, after minutes passed, she let him pass but put a big letter on his customs form to have all this suitcases searched.

That really surprised me. I thought only foreigners were questioned that bad. I didn't think the US would do that to their own citizens. Anyway, I hope all of us are getting a nicest welcome when we finally arrive!

Haha - I am sorry to hear that he had so much trouble getting back into his own country - I know it happens from time to time - Jeremy had the same things after he stayed here for three months as well. He got quizzed about when he was entering the country and the purpose of his visit!!! He explained that he lived there. They asked why he was coming back now and he had to explain that his dad had just died and if they really must know he had to make funeral arrangements and support his family. It was awful...

Doesn't fill me with hope and joy for next month but am still maintaining I will be fine!!!

nick flew home after 6 months here through dublin....they looked at his passport...said hope you had a good time and sent him on his way.

with regards to wedding dates being same as family....I'm getting married on nicks grandparents wedding anniversary. They were together 50+years until his grandpa died...his grandma hobbling up to the altar at my wedding to do a reading!
